This time it was a fence-line of friendly snowmen waving.
We also drove by this house not too far away from home. The man had just finished putting up his decorations. We were going by slowly to take a look, and as he turned round to smile I thanked him and told him how much we enjoy his decorations, how festive they were. His smile got bigger as he said thank you back. I always appreciate seeing these festive homes and all the hard work that goes into them. One of these nights we will be driving around the neighborhood to take more photos.
Hope they give you a smile.
What fun. I am sure he enjoyed the compliment.
ReplyDeleteI hope so :) It is always nice to be appreciated.
DeleteChristmas time and Christmas decorations are a lovely way to connect with neighbours. We are always grateful to our neighbours who put up lights!
ReplyDeleteWren x
I totally agree Wren and it is a lovely way to connect, as you say :) x
DeleteThey look good and look forward to seeing more that you may find on your drive around.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to sharing with you Margaret, thank you :)
DeleteThank you for sharing the seasonal scenes that you saw as you drove around. I'm sure your neighbour appreciated the compliment you gave. I haven't ventured around our neighbourhood yet, but every day I see near neighbours hanging up Christmas lights on their homes, trees and bushes which we can't do, being elderly. I'm enjoying the festive activity in our area especially as darkness arrives. The twinkling lights look pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Linda :) I have always tried to thank people who have shown such a special way of bringing cheer to the neighborhood. I know what you mean, it gets more challenging as we get older.
DeleteThese are wonderful. I especially like the snowmen. I keep saying I'm going to go out one evening to see everyones lights but then I never do.
ReplyDeleteThey are, aren't they? Maybe you will before the 25th Ann :) I haven't been able to get out yet but hopefully in the next few days.
DeleteVery festive Xmas decorations!

Deletethat snowman might melt if he drinks that hot chocolate! i love the snowmen behind the fence, beautiful in daytime or night time. when you going riding try getting them lit up.. I am thinking the nativity will be stunning when lit up at night. one of the prettiest i have ever seen
ReplyDeleteVery true! I know his helper would love a cup of hot chocolate right now :) I tried to get photos a few nights ago but there were so many cars in front of his house, it was impossible to get a decent photo. I think there must have been a party going on somewhere. I will try again.
DeleteLook forward to seeing more finds!
ReplyDeleteGreat, I'll share as soon as I have any photos. Thanks Christine :)
DeleteThe snowmen in a row are super duper cute.
ReplyDeleteThey certainly were :)
DeleteLove the sweet snowmen, Denise. I am unable to see your second photo for some reason. That was nice of you to thank the gentleman for spreading joy to your neighbors!
ReplyDeleteThank you Martha Ellen, I try :) Glad you saw the first one at least, and hopefully the second one will appear next time :)

DeleteHow fun to see the Christmas decorations. Those snowmen make me smile! I'd like to get more Christmas lights for our acreage.
ReplyDeleteSo glad, and the extra lights sounds lovely Ellen :)
DeleteWe haven't been out yet to look at decorations! Another thing to add to the holiday list!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy when you do Jeanie :)
DeleteWhile we haven't been out for any drives to see holiday lights, many residents here in the mill apts have decorated the exterior of their apartments. I am planning a walk around to photograph them and then post on the blog. There are some really outstanding set-ups. Glad you were able to let that decorator know you enjoyed the display, sure he appreciated knowing.
ReplyDeleteSounds wonderful my friend :) I always look forward to your photos.
DeleteThis is a cute snowman display. And the Nativity scene is lovely. Some people have the best decorations on their lawn and really spruce their place up. I think the lights really make the displays special.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
It really is and also the Nativity scene. We have several around the neighborhood. I am very grateful to our neighbors and elsewhere for making the area look so festive. Yes, I agree about the lights. Thanks Sheri :)
DeleteThe row of snowmen are very festive and made me smile, thank you x
ReplyDeleteYou gave a very special gift to that man, one that costs nothing but means the world xx
