I think there is some truth to this. Back when I was a child, everything seemed brighter, tastier, and more intense.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Ginny :)
DeleteEven as an adult both of them still taste delicious to me.
ReplyDeleteI remember eating strawberries as a child, which was a short season. It seemed to me that they tasted so much sweeter than the ones we buy now. I really should go to the places where we can pick our own right off the vine :)
DeleteChildren and birds enjoy what is available and don't complain . . . well, birds don't, anyway. 😉
ReplyDeleteLOL! That last part gave me a chuckle Janice :)
DeleteI don't know what kind of answer a bird would give, but I know a child's answer will be more interesting than an adults would be.
ReplyDeleteLove that Ann :) I think you are right.
DeleteCute image! I love strawberries, my hubby is the taste tester in the house. Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen! My dear is a good taste tester too :)
DeleteModern fruit is loaded with sugar...I am not a fan, but my husband loves fruit dearly. I said he loves sugar.
ReplyDeleteInteresting Angie, and like your husband I love fruit but I also count calories. L
DeleteOL! Mine loves to dip his strawberries in sugar which is what my father used to do also.
There is some truth to that. We have wild strawberries in the backyard, so add chipmunks to the list!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you have wild strawberries David :) I am definitely adding chipmunks to the list.
DeleteA child's answer may surprise us they are undeniably honest about food. Of my own three grands two would say they love them and one would not. My wren friends would surely love both. Darling rendition Denise.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I remember that well Martha Ellen. It comes under the heading of “Out of the mouths of babes.” :) Thank you my friend, always happy you enjoy.
DeleteThat's true, as you always get the truth from little ones.
ReplyDeleteNice AI too, Denise.
Take care.
Very true Margaret :) Glad you liked the illustration Margaret. I am having a lot of fun seeing what it conjures up with a few words from me. You take care too.
Deletea lovely grahpics, the cherries and berries look like I could pick a few for myself. I love all fruit but do have to admit there are one or 2 I don't eat. trying to think what I would say if someone ask me how they taste... just ate a piece of over ripe left it to long on the counter pineapple and it taste like pineapple wine. ha ha
ReplyDeleteGreat, always appreciate you saying so Sandra :) and I had a laugh at your pineapple wine.
DeleteA lovely quote and illustration.
