This is half of Gregg’s photo above, taken from the other side of the Moon Gate, a preview of more photos to come on Tuesday. I like how he framed the house. He has such a good eye for these things. We weren’t there for very long but could see that it had been finished and flowers and fauna planted. It looked lovely! I am still hobbling and could only manage 20 minutes, if that. There was seating but we discovered it had rained quite hard and all benches were drenched (we had no rain at all getting there, so it was a surprise to see everything so wet). Still, at least we got there and what a treat it was. The garden staff have done a beautiful job indeed.

I love it, it is a perfect circle. Did you walk through it? The framed house is a wonderful image!! A moon gate frame.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny, and we walked through it. It is open now and we enjoyed looking at everything planted, new and old :)
DeleteIt looks lovely - and the photos are excellent. I am sorry to hear you are still hobbling though.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Sue, very much appreciate your comment :)
DeleteI really like the moon gate and also the story of the house you told us in a previous post.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Denise!
So glad, thank you Katerina :) You have a great week also.
DeleteOh my Denise, soon hope that knee gives you no trouble.
ReplyDeleteLike the arch, it looks good. Take care.
Thank you Margaret, I appreciate that. I always seem to take a long time getting over these sprains. I loved Gregg's photo! Always interesting to see what turns up through his camera eye :)
DeleteI LOVE that moon gate. It's fascinating and beautiful. That's something I would love to see in person.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, it's a beauty isn't it? :) I just remembered there is another Moon Gate at the garden in Winchester we have been too. It's a lot further a drive so we don't get to see that place too often.
Deletewow on the landscaping around the moon gate. someone is an artist with plants. Love the view of the house through the gate... here we have much rain like that, it rains here and not there and I have gotten many a wet fanny plopping down on a bench without looking
ReplyDeleteThey really have done a great job of this area, and of the whole garden. Thanks Sandra, and it is a very unpleasant feeling sitting down on a wet bench :)
DeleteIt really is a lovely place and the Moon Gate is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you Janice, we have really enjoyed both :)
DeleteThe garden is very polished
ReplyDeleteVery much so, thank you Roentare :)

ReplyDeleteLove the play on words Linda, thank you for the smile :)
DeleteThat is a cool moon gate, Denise. I especially like the picture of the house in the distance.

ReplyDeleteThank you Debbie and I agree, he does :) Hope you had a wonderful start to the week.
DeleteGregg's photo is perfect! I'm so happy you were able to get out for bit, my friend. The moon gate is beautiful there! I remember when our grands were small we took them to the Children's Museum in Richmond. With team effort we were able to construct a moon gate from soft blocks. A good lesson in mathematical construction and team work.
ReplyDeleteSending you hugs on this beautiful Sunday.
Thank you Martha Ellen, it was a joy to see. Gregg will be happy you liked his photo too. Lovely memory of you with your grands and building those memories for them, which I am sure they remember fondly all of them. I am a bit late answering but I hope your Sunday was wonderful and your week is starting off great :)
DeleteBeautifully naturally framed photo. Happy Sunday to you as well. Cheers Diane
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed, thank you Diane. Hope you had a wonderful week so far. Cheers!
DeleteOh, wow, this is wonderful. It reminds me of Stargate! :)
ReplyDeleteExactly what I thought when I first saw it, and previous ones over the years too. Thank you Penelope :)
DeleteUy que linda puerta. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias, es una puerta hermosa, estoy de acuerdo. Te mando un beso.
DeleteSitting in a wet bench isn’t going to kill you! It will revive memories of childhood.
ReplyDeleteIt might not David but it will get me very wet and what I might have put up with as a child, I will avoid in my mid 70s, lol! Besides, if I sat down, and on reflection, I probably wouldn't have been able to get up without great difficulty. It was hard enough getting in and out of the car that day :)
DeleteThat really is lovely!
ReplyDeleteWe thought so too, thank you Jenn :)
DeleteThe rain deal sounds like Friday here...my daughter got home from work and asked did it rain any at all here...I said no, not a drop. It had poured down at work. Which is probably only 10 miles or so from here. I was so hoping your sprain was a lot better.
ReplyDeleteIsn't that interesting? Always amazes me when chatting to our son and it is pouring with rain where he is, not so far away, and sunny where we are, or vice versa :) Thank you so much Rose, it's slow going right now but off to the doctor soon.
DeleteThat gate is so striking!
ReplyDeleteI thought so too, thanks Jeanie :)
DeleteGregg's photo of the Moon Gate and house is lovely. He has a good idea for picture composition.
ReplyDeleteThank you Beverley, he will be very pleased when I tell him that :)
