Ever since camera lady stopped feeding the squirrels for the summer months, yes and the birds, she decided to take up knitting squirrel underwear! The birds will be next.

DeleteThats adorable. I miss our squirrels. They used to use our fence as a highway, and they dug in the yard every morning. Left little holes everywhere. Then one day I found daddy squirrel belly up at the bottom of the big tree where they have lived for years. Then mom disappeared. Then the baby squirrel got a last drink from the birdbath and never saw him again. Then I found a dead eastern screech owl in the yard. I wanted to cry. We have new neighbors. I think...I think...they put out rodentacide. Im prety sure they did because they did a lot of other things this neighborhood doesnt do. I know this is sad and your post is sweet and uplifting, but maybe, just maybe, someone will read and realize how bad rodentacides are.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sad story JC and I can’t think why this would be done with such reckless disregard for any living creature. There are more humane ways to relocate animals if one has to. Not only animals could be harmed, what if small children came across this poison? It is a horrifying thing to do. I hope this can help in spreading the word, that this kind of poison, any poison, is so dangerous to everyone in the community.
DeleteGood picture for smile in the morning. Have a nice summer.
ReplyDeleteThank you JS :) so glad and I wish you the same.
DeleteOh, that's so cute. Although I don't appreciate the squirrels as you do, I really enjoy your character posts, Denise. It's been pretty warm here, and it seems that the squirrels are out more. I see them on my lawn every day.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Hi Sheri, thank you for looking and I really appreciate you writing a sweet comment. It means a lot especially knowing that squirrels are not your cup of tea. We have more around here also.
DeleteThis is so cute, it made me smile, thank you.
