  5. LOL, eating fries at the golden arches reminds me of when I was growing up. There was a fast food place (Red Barn) that always had sea gulls swarming all around the place. I assume they were digging food out of the dumpsters.

  7. The American Goldfinch and the Northern Cardinal should be year-round residents where you live, but it’s delightful to see the Chipping Sparrow in the last shot. It was probably a migrant.

    1. Thanks David for the info. I just haven't seen them at my birdfeeder as often. I have been trying to find a birdfeed that they all enjoy and I don't have any hanging feeders because it's tricky putting them on our new deck because of the design and the fact that it isn't wood. Any recommendations would be gratefully accepted :) p.s. I'm looking at a female cardinal right now. She seems to be enjoying the seed I put out, a win!

    1. You are very welcome HW, I'm sure they enjoyed their fries :) Fries are like a siren song. The devil's food, but oh so tempting, and that's the crux of the matter lol!

    2. lolololololol. I had to cut myself off from store-bought air fry fries awhile ago. I will literally, eat a plate for every meal. Not a lot, just enough for a meal. Only I'll get on a kick where all I want are those.

    3. I remember being sent up to the chippy and bringing everyone’s dinner home. Used to sneak one or two on the way back, lol! Hot chips straight out of the newspaper they were rolled up in, especially on a cold winter’s night, ah the memories ;) can’t beat a good chip can you?

    1. Yes, it comes around far too quickly doesn't it? :) Alas I didn't enjoy McD's, just the birds I'm assuming, I am quite envious, lol!

  14. this morning at 7 am all the birds here were in the Walmart parking lot. they were everywhere, zillions of teeny tiny little brown birds and crows and gulls and black birds too... Humans throw so much food and garbage out there are always birds there, this was more than the normal crew

  15. Oooh, this is so cute. Love bird talk.

Here's a chirpy message from my friend Sparrow: "Hey there! You won't believe the feast we've got going on in the Netherlands. Picture this: endless rows of greenery, and these plump, yellow, fuzzy caterpillars chomping away happily. It's a caterpillar bonanza! Come join us and help catch them. It's gonna be a blast!" 🐛🌿✨

    1. I have fun listening to these birds, at least in my head, lol! Loved your chirpy message, our birds would love that kind of feast :) Unfortunately I have seen no caterpillars yet. They are all waiting for the warmer weather. Thank you Aritha, fun to read.

  18. The birds around your neck of the woods are delightful.....especially the cardinals. It is a dream to see one someday. We don't see them here in California where I live. Always enjoy your "bird feeder" posts, and being in nature makes my heart smile.
