When our son came over a few days ago, he stopped at our local shopping center to pick up a coffee for his mum. When he parked and got out of his car, he saw someone staring at him first, and then that someone looked towards the coffee shop. I think his human was already getting their coffee and sweet dog was wondering how long they would be. He was very calm and didn't get agitated when son said hello and took his photo. Maybe he recognized someone who loved dogs as much as we do.
I would say to his humans...
"You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion."

I'm sure his human knows that already, he looks well-loved.
What a sweetie-pie! Thanks for taking those photos son! I found a few frames for him.
"Properly trained, a man can be a dog's best friend."
~Corey Ford~
And a funny for you.
“Because of the dog's joyfulness, our own is increased. It is no small gift. It is not the least reason why we should honor as well as love the dog of our own life, and the dog down the street, and all the dogs not yet born. What would the world be like without music or rivers or the green and tender grass? What would this world be like without dogs?”
~Mary Oliver~
My sunshine doesn't come from the skies,
It comes from the love in my dog's eyes.

What a sweet find he made! This little guy looks so well behaved. I love your two part heart frame, and of course Mary Oliver!!
ReplyDeleteTwo of my favorites also Ginny :) thank you!
DeleteWhat a sweet dog and window is down nearly all the way, it's a wonder it didn't escape, however the window should be down some so it doesn't get too hot in the car for the dog..
ReplyDeleteHi Margaret, he sure was. I wondered about the open window. Perhaps he was leashed without us knowing. Fortunately it was a cool-ish day.
DeleteThese dogs are stars!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly are :)
DeleteWhat a cute dog that is. I'm pretty sure that if I left the window down that far for Gibbs, he would jump out of the car.
ReplyDeleteI was once following a car and when we stopped at a traffic light, this beautiful dalmation jumped out of the window. Fortunately, retrieved without too much chasing :) but it was scary as it was a busy road. Again fortunately, the busy road had the sign on stop. The cars on the side road came around ever so slowly.
DeleteAwwwww.
ReplyDeleteExactly what I said when son showed me his photos :)
DeleteHello,

ReplyDeleteBeau is the sweetest dog and I can see he comes out on top with you, as it should be. Funny about the sofa :) Happy you enjoyed this.
DeleteWhat a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteHe certainly was :)
DeleteCute! My dog may not be the best but he is striving to be and I believe he will get there.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda and I know you'll get there with Charlie :)
DeleteWhat a good dog.
ReplyDeleteHe certainly was :)
DeleteOh, what a cute photo your son took. And especially nice and thoughtful of him to get his mom a coffee. The Mary Oliver poem is delightful too. A mother and son's relationship is very special, indeed. My son also brings me treats now and then. : )
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Thank you Sheri and I am tooting his horn as he's a sweet guy and does that every time he comes over. We are very close and he is the same with his dad. Glad you enjoyed the pups and the poem and how lovely you and your son have a lovely relationship also. Very special indeed these special relationships between mothers and sons as you say.
DeleteIt is a lovely looking dog, friendly and loveable. My friend down the street has a lovely dog,Rosie, she has the most intelligent eyes.
ReplyDeleteYes, the first thing I noticed was that adorable expression. I'd love to see a photo of Rosie sometime Diane, she sounds a sweet dog too :)
DeleteYou can tell by looking at the dog that it is a good, well loved dog. There is nothing like a dog to bring joy in life.
ReplyDeleteI love Mary Oliver's poems. They are so accessible and meaningful.
I agree, he just exudes with happiness but at the same time waiting patiently for his family to return. You're right there, they do bring a very special joy to one's life. And I feel the same way about Mary Oliver's poetry. Thanks Yogi :)
DeleteAhh, cute doggie. I'm most impressed that your son was stopping to bring you a coffee. Sweet son!
ReplyDeleteYes, Ellen, he is a sweet son and no doubt you have the same sweeties in your own family :)
DeleteWe have two pound pups and I cannot imagine a world without dogs. They are a delight - even when doing things they shouldn't be. Loved all the pictures. Bring on the pups! Cheers, Ivy.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely Ivy :) they bring a lot of happiness don't they? Thank you and yes, any time I find a pup to photograph, I will be sharing it here. Cheers!
DeleteThat dog's cute face -- oh, it makes my heart sing!
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute and I had the same feeling :)
