ANYTHING THAT’S HUMAN…

Fred Rogers was a wonderful human being, a great role model for children, for adults too.  For many years I used to sit down and watch Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood with our son when he was very young, and we talked about its life lessons. It was one of the few TV shows allowed on his ‘watch list’.  Sesame Street was another.

“Fred McFeely Rogers(March 20, 1928 – February 27, 2003), better known as Mr. Rogers, was an American television host, author, producer, and Presbyterian minister.   He was the creator, showrunner and host of the preschool television series Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, which ran from 1968 to 2001.”

You can read more about Mr. Rogers if you click on his name underneath his picture.

  1. We watched it with our son, too. Along with Sesame street. We watched a biography of Fred Rogers awhile ago.

  11. I met him at a PBS meeting once and it was one of the most remarkable experiences of my life. The line to meet him was incredibly long -- from one end of a hotel ballroom to the other. We all thought it would be just a handshake but he engaged every person in a conversation, asking about them, what they liked to do, their families... and followed up with more questions, clearly having listened to what you had to say. I've never seen anything like it in any rope line I've ever stood in. I'll never forget it.
