He rocks in the treetops all day long, hoppin' and a-boppin'

Rockin' robin, Rock-rock-rockin' robin'
Go rockin' robin 'cause we're really gonna rock tonight

Every little swallow, every chick-a-dee, every little bird
in the tall oak tree
The wise old owl, the big black crow flappin' their wings

Go rockin' robin 'cause we're really gonna rock tonight

They started going steady and bless my soul, he out-bopped
the buzzard and the oriole

ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Ivy and thank you :)
DeleteYour photos fit the words perfectly! And yes, I remember this song very well! But I bet American Bandstand would not have given it a good grade for being good to dance to.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny :) You are probably right Ginny, so I didn't grow up with American Bandstand and have only seen fleeting glimpses over the years :)
DeleteA music whimsical melody they sang

DeleteCool post!

DeleteLove the lyrics to this sing! Hey, this is a good time to remind folks about our lovely Robin. The American Robin is in the thrush family, totally different from the European robin. You often see robins on the ground, listening for worms. They are not great fliers, so if you see one beside the road, give it just that second or two more to fly out of way of your car. We see dead robins hit by cars and it makes us sad. We want the robins to keep on rockin'!
ReplyDeleteHello Kay :) that's great and yes we do have a lovely Robin. Thanks for the info and that would certainly be very sad. Fortunately we haven't seen Robins like that around here, other animals but never Robins. We want them all to keep on rockin' :)
