DeleteIsn’t Mothers Day in the UK referred to as Mothering Sunday? Seems to me I saw that expression used somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the question David. It is indeed. I found the following online: “In the UK, the tradition of "Mothering Sunday" as a day to honor mothers, which is now often referred to as "Mother's Day," dates back to the 16th century, originating as a religious observance on the fourth Sunday of Lent, where people would return to their "mother church”. Always interesting and happy to do a little research when I am asked questions. They are a fun refresher course also.
DeleteI love the still life - so calming and pretty.
ReplyDeleteI agree Janice :)
DeleteThey are all gorgeous. I read about mother's day and was confused for a minute. I knew it was always in May but I forgot that other places celebrate it on different dates.
ReplyDeleteHi Ann, this day has a special memory for me. Thanks to my Dad we would always give Mum a small bouquet of daffodils, which she loved. I still remember her smile and the hug she gave us after giving them to her.
