"If ants are such busy workers, how come they find time to go to all the picnics?"
"Ants are good citizens, they place group interests first."
"As a kid I lived in a fantasy world. I used to believe ants could talk. Not once did they say thank you."
(I found my ants in the Children's Garden at Meadowlark Gardens several years ago. Sad to say they have moved on to new pastures.)
It is a beautiful ant! We saw picnic plates and bowls at a gift shop, and the print on them looked like real ants. Who would want to eat on them! It would look like ants are crawling on your food! And they weren't cheap, either.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny, I thought so too :) Those picnic plates, not sure I would like those either. Sounds interesting though.
DeleteSurely ants are good citizens
ReplyDeleteand put the common good first and not individual interest!
If people were like that, we would be far ahead!!
Have a nice day Denise!!
I believe they are. Thank you Katerina, you have a nice day also :)
DeleteLOL I guess going to picnic is part of the job :-)))
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like it Angie :)))

ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Sue, glad you liked them, I did too :)

ReplyDelete100 percent agree Janice and I enjoyed those sculptures very much :)
DeleteLove the images and the quotes. Fun post. Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Eileen, thank you and I wish you the same :)
DeleteThere are several rules in ant society, the principle one being to organize well, share the tasks and work at all times for the common good. Humans know this, write about it but never emulate it. The second one, of course, is to disturb human picnics and feast on sweet treats! These two are immutable!
ReplyDeleteThe more things change, the more they stay the same David :) Ants are spot on!
DeleteThat is the fanciest ant I have ever seen. I love that first quote. I am curious as to how they find so much time to go to picnics.
ReplyDeleteHe is isn't he? Those ants are driven and very smart. I'm glad they are only the size of ants :)
DeleteLovely post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne :)
DeleteQuestions I shall ponder as I go throughout the day.....
ReplyDeleteAs do I :)
DeleteThat is the prettiest ant I have ever seen! :)
ReplyDeleteI think so too Rita :)
DeleteFun post. Reminds me of this Proverb from the Bible;
ReplyDeleteGo to the ant, O sluggard;
consider her ways, and be wise.
Without having any chief,
officer, or ruler,
she prepares her bread in summer
and gathers her food in harvest.
Have a beautiful day, Denise.
That's a wonderful quote Ellen, thank you and you have a beautiful day also :)

ReplyDeletePicnics and ants go hand in hand :)
DeleteAnts are ok outside. In Florida they are running around 12 mos, 365 days - I fight them tooth and nail when they like to come in my house. Ugh
ReplyDeleteYes they are and can be interesting to watch but oh no, not in the house :) I give them their tiny bikes and tell them to hop on them, lol!
DeleteThat is one VERY cool ant.
ReplyDeleteI agree Ivy :)
