A CHANGE OF PACE...

 "If ants are such busy workers, how come they find time to go to all the picnics?"

"Ants are good citizens, they place group interests first."

"As a kid I lived in a fantasy world.  I used to believe ants could talk. Not once did they say thank you."

(I found my ants in the Children's Garden at Meadowlark Gardens several years ago. Sad to say they have moved on to new pastures.)

  1. It is a beautiful ant! We saw picnic plates and bowls at a gift shop, and the print on them looked like real ants. Who would want to eat on them! It would look like ants are crawling on your food! And they weren't cheap, either.

  2. Surely ants are good citizens
    and put the common good first and not individual interest!
    If people were like that, we would be far ahead!!
    Have a nice day Denise!!

  7. There are several rules in ant society, the principle one being to organize well, share the tasks and work at all times for the common good. Humans know this, write about it but never emulate it. The second one, of course, is to disturb human picnics and feast on sweet treats! These two are immutable!

  8. That is the fanciest ant I have ever seen. I love that first quote. I am curious as to how they find so much time to go to picnics.

  11. Fun post. Reminds me of this Proverb from the Bible;
    Go to the ant, O sluggard;
    consider her ways, and be wise.
    Without having any chief,
    officer, or ruler,
    she prepares her bread in summer
    and gathers her food in harvest.

    Have a beautiful day, Denise.

  17. Ants are ok outside. In Florida they are running around 12 mos, 365 days - I fight them tooth and nail when they like to come in my house. Ugh
