A CARDINAL AND A POEM

A flash of red in the winter white,
A Cardinal perched on a branch so slight.
He sings his song with a cheerful might,
A reminder of hope in the fading light.

He does not mind the cold or snow.
He knows the spring will soon bestow
A burst of life and colors so
He waits with patience, not with woe.

He teaches us to be brave and strong,
To face the challenges that come along,
To find the beauty in every day
And keep our faith in every way.

The picture and poem are AI and you will be getting many more images in the months ahead. Being late to the game, I finally am enjoying this extension to my adventures through blogging. Creating these images with a few words produces amazing results and it is a lot of fun seeing what it comes up with.

I am wondering if we will get any more snow this winter. The past week has been wonderful. The blossom trees are starting to bud with touches of pink everywhere. Also, the daffodils are a lovely sight, along with pretty pink and lavender hyacinth. Yesterday it reached 69 deg. F. and it was great getting out. I went to the garden in short sleeves and a cardigan. Spring is definitely around the corner.

Thanks for visiting and I hope your day
is a great one.

  1. This is really a glorious picture of the cardinal in the snow. He looks so brave and persevering! And I love the poem. I like to use A.I., but I have no creativity or imagination!

  7. Don't take those blooms for granted. We live in pine country and do not have any flowering trees in our area at all. As lovely as it is here, we do miss those flowering trees!

    1. Excellent advice :) You do live in a lovely state. I would be interested in knowing what does grow in the spring.

  8. Oh, I hope you don't get more snow or super cold so those blossoms don't freeze. I always worry about that when we have what feels like early spring (aka Fake Spring.)

  10. For as many people who seem to be embracing AI on their blog posts, Denise, this new technology is not one embraced by myself. I much prefer when people show their own images and words. To me that is part of being creative. Some things are not for everyone.

  12. That's a beautiful picture of the cardinal. When we lived in Virginia, I chose Christmas cards several years with a picture of a cardinal, so festive.

  16. Wonderful picture! I got such a tepid response to my AI pictures that I started a new blog just for them. (https://imagecroft.blogspot.com/)

A lot of people are afraid of AI, and of course, there is a very real fear that it will take away jobs. I’m sure it will also create jobs.

Artists were not happy when photography was developed. And then there was a negative reaction to Photoshop. AI is certainly a threat to Photoshop. I don’t think creative artists have anything to fear, but illustrators may find that commercial work becomes less profitable. Actually, photographers have lost a lot of work because cell phone cameras are so good that exceptional pictures are commonplace.

I’m having fun with computer imaging, and it is addictive. It can be very creative depending on what you do.

    1. This is an excellent comment Linda, thank you :) I will check out your new AI blog and thanks also for the link. There are definitely pros and cons. Each new technology wasn’t very welcome when it arrived, and your point about people losing jobs is a valid one. Cell phones for instance, and also when we transferred to digital for taking our photos because in the long run, we, the consumer, benefited as we were no longer paying those high bills for rolls of film. We can take as many pictures as we want now. But there must have been a lot of people who lost their jobs at places like Kodak. We can go back to all of history when advances were made to see that, and now with this AI, it’s another scary proposition. One of the cons - no pun intended - is that people will probably use it for nefarious purposes. We have to educate ourselves, to be aware and not believe everything we see or hear, especially in today's climate. Then again that's been going on through history also. I’m afraid the genie was let out of that bottle long ago. Technology is racing ahead at a fast speed, and hopefully it will be for everyone’s benefit in the long haul.

    3. When I was in the quilt museum in Harrisonburg, I saw a label that said that when sewing machines were first invented in France, tailors rioted! They were losing their contracts with the government to make uniforms because the factory could make them faster and cheaper.

  17. What a beautiful poem, Denise. I really needed to hear that tonight. You know, it is a dream of mine to see the red cardinal one day. We don't see them here in California where I live. So, it would be such a wonder to see one in person.

Have a blessed rest of the week and weekend.
