Lady is going to have to get her hearing checked. She also told the squirrels it was time to give the birds their time at the feeders. Their nest would be much warmer for them she said. They left having had lots of good nuts, fruits and seeds, and there was plenty more for the birds. In no time at all after they had left, a feathered friend arrived.
Our little Carolina Wren hasn't been around for a while and was feeling a bit shy. It was visiting long before the Froggies 3 arrived in the family. I am glad to see it is back...more tomorrow.
And so it goes at the birdfeeder.
Have a great weekend everyone,
and thanks for stopping by.
Happy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine, you too :)
DeleteThat is a very cute dialogue there. So clumsy and down in IQ. But cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Roentare :)
DeleteThanks for the smiles - though I do feel for the birds and the critters in the snow.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Sue :) It's the same with me, I often wonder about where they on these winter nights.
DeleteI hope the little wren has a chance at the feeders. Cute captions and squirrel photos.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy weekend.
Thank you Eileen, he did as you'll see when I post more photos :) Happy weekend to you also!
DeleteLOL this is just too cute. Lady said you wanted foxglove made me laugh. Way too cold to be out there without gloves.
ReplyDeleteHappy you had a chuckle Ann and it certainly is :)
DeleteI really enjoy this, it's awesome. Your blog makes me happy, and I'm just sitting here with a smile. Reading about your favorite animal, especially when the author makes it talk and uses speech bubbles, is so creative and funny. Thanks! Hoping you have a great Saturday. The snow is melting here, and I'm hoping to spot some crocuses in a nearby field on Monday. Take care! 😊🌷 My blog: https://momentsfrozentime.blogspot.com/
ReplyDeleteHello Aritha, so glad you enjoy my talking squirrels :) I hope you have a great Saturday also. The sun is out, the sun is shining and the snow is being blown off the roof tops. It looks like a very fine misty blizzard right now. I took photos but it doesn't show too well on them. Have a great weekend!
DeleteGreat photos of squirrel in the snow!! Stay warm and cozy~
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen and from what I saw of your photos, you stay warm and cozy also :)
DeleteWhen it comes to seed and nuts, those squirrels sure are greedy!
ReplyDeleteI can attest to that! :)
DeleteThat is so much fun! I love your foxtails!
ReplyDeleteHappy you enjoyed Jenn, thank you :)
DeleteYou could always give the squirrels their on blog and call it Conversations with Squirrels.. they are so cute and soooo cold!!! poor little guys, hope the foxglove works, maybe a fire build with the leaves?
ReplyDeleteNow that's a great idea :) Building a fire? Now let's not give them any ideas, lol!
DeleteI love your life at the bird feeder posts! They just always make me smile!
ReplyDeleteSo glad they make you smile Jeanie, thank you :)
DeleteI actually saw a squirrel fall in soft snow. It was funny how she/he shook and looked around before struggling out of the dep snow.
ReplyDeleteNow isn't that something? They probably do that a lot :) Thanks for sharing that image Red, it made me smile.
DeleteYour bird feeder posts are delightful, Denise. I see you had a squirrel come around to visit you. I don't see them as much on my lawn during the Winter months, but they are still there. We got a bit of snow as well, and it's been so cold. Just staying inside and keeping warm. ; )
ReplyDelete~Sheri
I am happy you enjoy them :) We don't get as many squirrels as we used to before we had the new deck. Perhaps just as well. I hope you aren't where they are getting this awful weather. I'm staying inside a lot more as I am dangerous walking on snow and ice! You stay safe warm over there too.
DeleteLovely post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, much appreciated :)
DeleteIt's all happening at the bird feeder!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is :) Thanks Pamela!
DeleteThank you Linda, happy you liked them :)
ReplyDeleteHurrah!! It is Saturday and time for The Birdfeeder. This is one of your best, it tickled me so. It is both sweet and funny. Your Saturdays could all be a weekly column in the newspaper. The Foxgloves are such a cute idea, and the squirrel photos are so great. I see the tiny wren peeking out. I adore wrens, but almost never see them. Except for that once I was attacked. They are spunky! So wrens spend the winter there?
ReplyDeleteYou know how to make my day Ginny, thank you so much for these very sweet comments :) Wrens are adorable aren't they? That's interesting, I didn't realize they were so feisty. That's a great question and unfortunately I don't know the answer. I am going to have to find that out whether they stay the whole winter and when I do I will let you know.
DeleteThis so darling beyond words, Denise. I so glad you speak squirrel, frog and wren. The foxglove carrying rooster gave me quite a laugh!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Martha Ellen, yes I am a regular Dr. Doolittle, at least in my head, lol! Very happy you enjoy my chatty animal posts. Always appreciate that you do :) Have a great week my friend.
Deleteso cute, i really enjoy these!! my feeders are "flying room" only, the birds that are on them are chasing others away and hogging all of the food for themselves!!
ReplyDeleteGlad you think so Debbie. I had to get rid of my old hanging feeders after we got this new deck. The rails were way too narrow for a hanger. I do miss them but am also enjoying this new arrangement. With the bad weather the birds must get extra feisty worrying if they are going to run out of food. Instinct kicks in I guess :)
DeleteVery cute and it made me smile, thanks Denise. Cheers Diane
ReplyDeleteGreat, thank you Diane :) and cheers to you also.
Deletesquirrels are lots of fun. One was chattering at me on our fence a year or two ago while I was watering the flowers so I sprayed it. It put it's tail over his head as an umbrellas. I laughed.
ReplyDeleteI agree, so much fun. The one you saw sounded charming. I often used to see the squirrels sitting on a branch and covering their heads with their tails in the rain. Looked so darned cute!
DeleteI so look forward to your Saturday bird feeder posts, they always make me smile.
ReplyDeleteGreat photographs and captions, well done Denise and a big THANK YOU.
All the best Jan
So kind of you to say so Jan, thank you very much. All the best to you too and thanks for making my day :)
DeleteThis was very sweet, authentic and enjoyable. Denise! Thank you so much. Aloha!
ReplyDeleteHappy you think so Cloudia, and thank you :)
DeleteBrought a smile to my face - well done Denise.
ReplyDeleteThat’s great! So kind of you to say Margaret, thank you :)
DeleteSuch adorable rascals.
ReplyDeleteAgree :)
DeleteThanks for the fun squirrel conversation. It made me smile. I'm sure there was plenty of food at the table for everyone :-)
ReplyDeleteSo glad Beverley. Thank you, there certainly was :)
