"Be kind to your web-footed friends, for that duck may be someone's mother."
Thanks for taking time out of your weekend to swim by.
Have a great day!
“Mitchell William Miller (July 4, 1911 – July 31, 2010) was an American choral conductor, record producer, record-industry executive, and professional oboist. He was involved in almost all aspects of the industry, particularly as a conductor and artists and repertoire(A&R) man. Miller was one of the most influential people in American popular music during the 1950s and early 1960s, both as the head of A&R at Columbia Records and as a best-selling recording artist with an NBC television series, Sing Along with Mitch. A graduate of the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester in the early 1930s, Miller began his musical career as a player of the oboe and English horn, making numerous highly regarded classical and popular recordings.”

ReplyDeleteMy father used to quote that Mitch Miller phrase. It made me smile. I haven't seen or heard it decades. Stay warm, stay safe.
Thank you Sue :) How interesting, I am glad I found this quote as I needed a refresher on who Mitch Miller was. My husband remembers his TV show.

DeleteHello Denise :=)
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely. ducks are beautiful creatures, and the duckling is as cute as can be, and did make me smile.. Without knowing about M W Miller, and his quote, I told my son when he was about nine years old the very same thing so he would respect all birds.
If I didn't wish you a happy new year I hope it will prove to be both happy and healthy.
All the best
Sonjia.

ReplyDeleteNo that I can remember but it sounds like a fun game :)
DeleteThe duckling photos were so cute, Denise, and while we didn't see any on the Nashua River last spring/summer, we do have a group of Mallard male and female ducks regularly seen here. They are always a welcome sight, more so than the Canada Geese.
ReplyDeleteHappy you think so Dorothy :) That's super that you have visiting mallards. I don't get to see them too often unless we take a car drive :)
DeleteWhat wonderful photos of the ducks, Denise. I want to get back to nature very soon. I've been traveling in the new year, and now it's time to settle in, enjoy Winter, the snow, and nature. ; ) I always love your nature photos, they truly are special.

Lovely! Thanks for the other words to the song Linda :)
