The Magnolias were blooming at Meadowlark Gardens. It was a very cloudy day but at least the rain held off. When we got home it started to rain, so we really lucked out for our walk.
This link shows other varieties. I didn't see an actual ID when I took my photos, but it looks like the one they call the Saucer Magnolia.
It is Spring and the Magnolias bloom.
There will be more flowers from the gardens in my next post. Have a great weekend everyone, and thanks for stopping by.
Wow, these are gorgeous! I have never seen one this color. We only have white here.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny, we have a lot of the pink versions at the gardens, but I have only noticed one white in our neighborhood.
DeleteI was hoping to see magnolias blooming when I went to Washington but they were't out yet!
ReplyDeleteBlooming time seemed a bit late this year Red.
DeleteBeautiful things. I have given up trying to grow them, since the cockatoos have destroyed three seperate plantings...
ReplyDeleteGoodness, those cockatoos, but oh do they make me smile. But then I don't see them in droves in my garden.
DeleteThank you for the sweet teatime visit... Your magnolia blossom are gorgeous. I can hardly wait for Spring to arrive here, but it is terribly late... So Thanks for sharing the inspiring photos.

ReplyDeleteMine too Valerie.
Deletethis is the first year the frost has not killed my blossoms on the magnolia
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that Linda.
Deletesooooooooo beautiful. love the pink. we have a magnolia tree across the street from us, but they are really big and white, not pink
ReplyDeleteInteresting Sandra, the whites are gorgeous too.

DeleteHello, the magnolia blooms are beautiful. I love the pretty pink color. Enjoy your day and weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen, glad you liked them and the same to you.
DeleteI see them all over here as well, sadly one thing we do not have in our garden and no room to put one in, we have more than enough trees as it is. Happy weekend, Diane
ReplyDeleteTrees of every form are beautiful Diane. Happy weekend to you too.
DeleteLove these, I love magnolias, such a short bloom though.
ReplyDeleteI agree Christine, and thank you.
DeleteHow pretty!
ReplyDeleteYes, a beautiful flower. Thank you William.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lee, their beauty attracted many photographers that day.
DeleteThey are so beautiful...I cannot believe I have never photographed one, but I haven't. I don't have one, and they are usually back in other people's yards and I don't think they would appreciate some stranger taking liberties and coming in their yard. LOL
ReplyDeleteHi Rose, the magnolia trees I have been finding are in botanical gardens. I know what you mean though. The only white one I have seen is in my neighborhood in someone's garden :)
DeleteHi Denise,
ReplyDeleteMagnolia are such beautiful flowers, we wait for them to bloom then invariably we have a windy day and the garden becomes covered in petals.
All the best, John
We had a tornado watch here last night. It was very windy so am thinking a lot of us are glad we took those photos when we did. All the best John :)
DeleteSo pretty!
ReplyDeleteThey certainly were, thank you Ellen :)
DeleteThe magnolia blossoms are lovely in your photo, Denise! It's an exciting time for flowers! I'm in heaven. Looks like a great place for a walk.
ReplyDeleteMe too Martha Ellen :)
DeleteDenise, fantastic magnolia blossoms. Thanks you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Doug and you are very welcome :)
DeleteSo beautiful. Our daughter and SIL have one like that. In our former life, we had a white one (grandiflora)....magnolias do really well in Oregon.
ReplyDeleteThat's good to know Sallie :)
