MAGNOLIAS

The Magnolias were blooming at Meadowlark Gardens.  It was a very cloudy day but at least the rain held off.  When we got home it started to rain, so we really lucked out for our walk.

This link shows other varieties.  I didn't see an actual ID when I took my photos, but it looks like the one they call the Saucer Magnolia.
It is Spring and the Magnolias bloom.
There will be more flowers from the gardens in my next post.  Have a great weekend everyone, and thanks for stopping by.

  3. Beautiful things. I have given up trying to grow them, since the cockatoos have destroyed three seperate plantings...

    1. Goodness, those cockatoos, but oh do they make me smile. But then I don't see them in droves in my garden.

  14. I see them all over here as well, sadly one thing we do not have in our garden and no room to put one in, we have more than enough trees as it is. Happy weekend, Diane

  17. They are so beautiful...I cannot believe I have never photographed one, but I haven't. I don't have one, and they are usually back in other people's yards and I don't think they would appreciate some stranger taking liberties and coming in their yard. LOL

    1. Hi Rose, the magnolia trees I have been finding are in botanical gardens. I know what you mean though. The only white one I have seen is in my neighborhood in someone's garden :)

  18. Hi Denise,
Magnolia are such beautiful flowers, we wait for them to bloom then invariably we have a windy day and the garden becomes covered in petals.
    All the best, John

  21. So beautiful. Our daughter and SIL have one like that. In our former life, we had a white one (grandiflora)....magnolias do really well in Oregon.
