I haven't posted any recipe for the last few weeks. We have been making repeat meals already shared. Instead, I will be taking you to Meadowlark Gardens. It is one of our favorites, with a relatively short driving time from our home, a lovely walk in all seasons and shared many times. This day there were lots of spring flowers to photograph and the cherry blossoms were blooming.
The one above I cropped from the top photo, a mommy with arms open and her little girl running into them. I suppose you'd say I am a bit of a softy for these moments caught in a split second. Not actually noticed until I saw the photo on my laptop that night, adorable!
It was busier than I have ever seen. The grass still looked on the dormant side but those blossoms were beautiful.
We visited on Sunday, April 7th. It was cloudy but the temperature was perfect.
People weren't only taking photos. We came across this lady with a painting almost completed.
The Cardinal enjoyed the blossoms also.

I will finish for now but I have more flowers to share. Have a great week and thank you for stopping by my post on the cherry blossoms.

Obrigado, estou feliz que tenha gostado do jardim. Um abraço e uma boa semana para você :)
DeleteOh how beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI so admire that painting too...
Happy you enjoyed EC :)
DeleteSo much georgousness!! From what I can see of this lady's painting, she is talented! My favorite is the fifth one. The little gazebo standing on the pier surrounded by blossoms. And even an extra treat, it has a lovely reflection.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny, the gazebo is one of my favorite spots. When it's quiet it's lovely to sit there and watch the swallows fly over the water. We have a while to go before they come back. Yes, the lady's painting showed her talent :)
DeleteWhat lovely photographs! I can easily imagine a picnic there. Thanks for taking me on a virtual visit!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed them Liberty Belle, you are so very welcome :)
DeleteWhat luscious blossoms and wonderful photos of them. Some look surreal. The little girl running into her mother’s arms is also a nice catch!
ReplyDeleteThank you Penelope, there certainly was a lot going on that day, and the little girl and her mommy were a favorite :)
DeleteHow beautiful the flowering trees are around the lake--kind of a mini Tidal Basin. Darling capture of a mother and daughter!
ReplyDeleteThey always remind me of the Tidal Basin Martha Ellen, thank you, so glad you enjoyed my post :)
DeleteLove how you sign off. The blossoms are magical. Wish I could walk there.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane, I wish you could too :)
DeleteWhat an enchanting walk as we sit inside with a thunderstorm raging tonight in Toronto!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, well, we had a storm too and even a tornado watch. Things have calmed down now though and I hope it is the same for you :)
DeleteI don't think we have any cherry blossoms here in Oklahoma. I can see from your photos why people get excited about them.
ReplyDeleteYes they do, I have been to the Cherry Blossoms at the Tidal Basin in Washington DC, and they come from all over the world to that one :)
DeleteA beautiful place to walk round and enjoy the lovely blossoms
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is, thank you Margaret :)
DeleteLovely pics, Denise, especially the little girl running into mother's arms, and another one I like is the cardinal in the tree. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Valerie, you are very welcome and was very happy to share :)

DeleteThe cherry blossoms are incredible, what a great walk! I like seeing plein air painters at work and it is almost too bad you don’t know that mother; it is such a great candid shot..she would love it!....I always enjoy your Monday food posts, but I’m glad to know that you don’t try a new recipe every week! (Most of my menu plans are repeats of ones originally shared by you )).
ReplyDeleteHi Sallie, happy you enjoyed my post on the cherry blossoms. I agree, I would love to give this photo to that little girl's mother. Also glad you enjoy the recipes I share. Hopefully I will have more to try soon :)

Deleteoh denise, as often is the case, we are on the same page. your cherry blossoms are so beautiful, i can see your park was very crowded as well. spring is such a pretty time of year, you captured it well!!!
ReplyDeletethe image of the cardinal was my favorite, that one is really special!!!
Hi Debbie, thank you. I certainly enjoyed yours today :)
DeleteAlways arent' they Linda? :)
ReplyDeleteThe cherry blossom is entrancing. It's not surprising people take photos or paint those pretty trees during the season which is soon over. The bridge and the walkway that extends into the water create an attractive scene.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much :)
