SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - SPIKE IS BACK

One spoiled little bird said "Nuh-uh!"

Unlike my little friend here who loves his birdseed.

and true to her word...

You never know birdies!

Not sure how long the snow is going to last. There will be 60 mile per hour winds so I hear, sometime in the middle of the night. Stay safe everyone!

Of course, putting the kettle on right now. And the mixing bowl is out. Just put the oven on to bake those cookies you like. Come on in, pull up a chair!

on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Thanks for visiting and
I wish you all a great weekend.

ODDS AND BODS FOR TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 3RD, 2026

You can enlarge any of the images below for clearer details.

1.

My neighborhood squirrel and I were having a chat this morning. We both agreed on this one.

2.

I am, is it because of this weather? Well maybe but…
3.

I read the weather forecast for later.

4.

For the cat lovers…

5.

and for the dog lovers…

6.
Case in point and another memory. Years ago, when we had our beloved dog Bridgette, Gregg came back from a business trip up north somewhere. He had been given a packet of beef sticks from a client, who told him these were the best he would ever taste. Gregg agreed with him, bought and tucked a packet into his suitcase. Noticing Bridgette salivating after he returned home after unpacking his suitcase, he put the packet on top of the dresser draw in our bedroom, as far back as he could. It was a very high chest of drawers. Hours later after we returned from a shopping trip, and dear other half went upstairs, I noticed Bridgette acting a little oddly. From the bedroom I heard, “What the heck?” Torn wrapping was found all over the bed and on the floor. He came down, showed her the evidence and said, “Bridgette, what did you do?” Usually she would follow him upstairs but this time she stayed by my side. Her ears went flat on her head and she looked very guilty. We never yelled at her and we didn’t this time either. She was a nervous dog, a black lab/Dalmatian mix, and we were the third family in her life, having been shipped back to the pound by previous owners. Animals follow their instincts, especially when food is around, and it was a reminder. We should have put them away more securely. A while later I saw her get on the end of our bed, stretch across to the dresser with her paws resting on the top, just nosying around. Maybe a beef stick had been overlooked but no, she had been very thorough. Another lesson learned by the humans, where there’s a will, there’s a way.

7.

I finished another jigsaw puzzle on my iPad.

8.

Are you a….?

9.

Yes I am and what a lovely word this is.

10.

A few wise words.

11.

but also, don't forget that at times you should...

12.

13.

Cleaning solutions are always interesting. I have not tried them yet but always save with that thought in mind. Next time, I intend to do a small patch first, to see if it works okay.

14.
My dream cottage…

15.

with a pretty dream kitchen and dining area.

16.

A cozy nook…

17.

and a place to rest my head.

18.

Anytime works for me but his question is...

19.

Somewhere I would love to have this window set-up.

20.

Then there is its own secret garden.

21.

We are going to have to fit this in somewhere.

22.

How about a recipe? (Non-tried but they are on my to-make list.)

23.

This would go very nicely with the soup recipe.

24.

Almost time to go but first...

25.

All for now!

Thanks for stopping by and
I hope you catch some joy today.

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER

Mr. Dove was a bit miffed but he is busy thinking up his next groaner now. It could be a while.

And that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Take good care of yourselves, thanks for stopping by
and have a great weekend!

For our international friends if they want to translate photos.

1st Photo:
Who is this?
She says we are related. She brought him home the other day.
He doesn't say much.

2nd Photo:
Someone ought to offer him a cup of tea.
Which reminds me, I have a joke.
Please don't tell one of your groaners.

3rd Photo:
How do you ask a dinosaur in for a cup of tea?
Tea Rex?

4th Photo:
I heard that before.

5th Photo:
One of the best groaners you didn't get to tell Mr. Dove.

6th Photo:
Thank you, I feel more like myself now that I have had a cuppa.
Are we related? I feel like we are.

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - THE COOL CROWD HAS ARRIVED - 3/15/25

They call themselves "The Cool Cats" even though they are frogs. The Mourning Doves enjoyed them. We all thought the windows were going to crack, and the old leaves on the trees were shaking.

And that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Thanks for looking at this week's tale of whimsy.
I wish you all a great day!
