SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER ON 4-25-26 - NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH

Yes, Froggies3 are the new co-Captains of the Neighborhood Watch. They stood in line to volunteer and look out for the safety of all the birds that visit our garden and beyond. A big thank you to Froggies3, and all the volunteers out there who help their communities.

And that's how it goes on

a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Wishing you all a great weekend.

and thanks for stopping by!

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - CUPCAKE?

That's an old groaner, even the house finch is flinching.

In the imagination of 'she of the house', the cupcake is made of all good things that the birds like to eat.

That's how it goes on a Saturday morning at the bird feeder.

Have a great day, thanks for visiting
and from the both of us,
a big thank you!

Photo: "What's this?"
"She of the house said it was the Mister's birthday."
"How many candles on his cake?"
"She didn't say but I noticed she had the fire extinguisher nearby."

Bird: "The Mr and Mrs want to thank you all for the
birthday wishes for Mr's Birthday."

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER…WHO IS THAT BEHIND ME.

The birds thought all they had to do was sing for their supper. They did not realize they would have to pick up a broom and clean up too.

And that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Have a great weekend everyone
and thanks for flying in.

"What is going on and who is that behind me?"

"That is Buddy Blue Jay. Someone is bored, they are adding stuff."

"She must be happy there is no snow on the deck."

"She is not happy at all the dirt it left behind."

"Oh boy!"

"Shhhh....don't tell her snow is forecast for Monday."

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER- THE SHEEP WERE BUSY

In the meantime, busy needles were clacking, with sheep knitting sweaters for winter.

And that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder! It isn't just the birds who are welcome here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

For our international friends to translate the above photos.

 Photo 1:

Hello Mr. Goldfinch, so nice to see you. It has been several months since we last saw you.

Thank you, it is good to be back.

Photo 2:

Did you know you have sheep in your garden? They keep saying winter is coming.

Photo 3:

It was cooler today but it is still August. It also rained like the Dickens.

I am so confused.

Photo 4:

Did you know it takes five sheep just to make one sweater?

I didn't even know they could knit!

That's a real groaner!

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - IT STOPPED RAINING

I have felt a little under the weather and have taken a blog break for a few days. These few posts have been set up beforehand.  I will be back sometime next week.

And that’s how it goes on a
Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Thanks for stopping by
and have a great weekend.

For our overseas friends, a transcript for the translation button on my side bar:

1st Photo: rainy day on our deck.

2nd Photo: Sophie Squirrel: "I am happy it stopped raining so hard."

Daphne Dove: "You won't have to cover your head with your tail."

3rd Photo: Froggie 3: "I thought we were going to float away."

Daphne Dove: "I have ordered water wings for us all."

Sophie Squirrel: "For me too? I am not part of your family. I don't expect you to include me."

Daphney Dove: "You too! We live on the same blue dot. Carl Sagan said that. As far as I am concerned, we are all related."

Carl Sagan's story of the Pale Blue Dot can be found here.

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - ARE YOUR FEATHERS STAYING DRY?

"I have never seen a banana couch before" they said. "She has some very interesting furniture!" ("She has a lot of interesting things in her imagination," she said.)

Camera lady is cleaning the closets and drawers out this week. She came across Thinhorn while looking for things to discard. She found him on vacation years ago and couldn't part with him. He was a reminder of a lovely time, so now he's part of our Saturday Morning family. He will be popping up every now and again.

Thinhorn was delighted to be so warmly welcomed. He knew he was going to be very happy here.

And that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Birdfeeder.

Thanks for flying in.

I hope you're hanging in there and

your feathers are staying dry.

Have a great weekend!

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - SORT OF!

After discussing this with their 100 other family members on the roof, they all flew off and visited their raven cousins in the southwest. It was a bit of a surprise but who wouldn't be with 100 family members suddenly turning up? Crows don't have cell phones! In the meantime, a few days later...

Oh Sofie Squirrel, you look like you are auditioning for a new Conehead movie.

They are also getting ready for the Conehead audition, at least their umbrella is. It all depends if it freezes or if the snow melts.

We're all glad it stopped snowing. Sofie is still clutching her pearls, I mean acorn, the Froggies3 are still watching the Kissing Bunnies. The audition was cancelled because the snow melted a few hours later. The old wise crow who foresaw the snow coming, is now warming his feathers in the sunshine and warmth of the southwest, and...

that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Have a great weekend everyone
and thanks for flying in.

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - THE NORTHERN FLICKER WAS INVITED FOR COCKTAILS

All is well on this Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder. The Northern Flicker slept under the guest toadstool, and is safely continuing his journey this morning. Camera Lady is hoping he will be back soon.

Have a great day everyone and I hope wherever you are, your nest is cozy and warm.

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - ON HIS WAY UP NORTH - 1-18-25

The Kissing Bunnies were doing what they usually do and not paying much attention, but the little House Finch seemed interested in their new guest.

A White-throated Sparrow was waiting for her partner but decided to practice her half of the pas de deux. She was tired and feeling very blurry! She couldn't focus at all!
The Eastern Bluebird was taking it all in from her branch on the tree above.

Next word of the day, "Quirky" but we will wait on that one. It seems to explain things somehow.

And that's the way it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder. Frappé was soon on his way back up North, and for some strange reason, Camera Lady was heading for the coffee pot.

Thanks for looking and I hope your day
is a great one!

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - THE SQUIRRELS HAD A PARTY

It was wild!

Nope, we're not doing word of the day today.

The American Robins flew in to check out what all the commotion was about.

The Mockingbird turned up for a few seconds.

The Robins turned up with friends and had their own party.

Everyone was all of a tweeter.

The inanimate object was by this time standing upright and wasn't talking, Kissing Bunnies were okay too. Big Bunny is still staying away, but this little guy turned up. Everyone was keeping a close eye on him. He told everyone he was innocent and that he didn't know anything.

I have noticed how you all tip toe and jump over those leaves. We keep sweeping them up and they keep falling. That's why they call it "Fall!"

Tell them they have very good fluffy tails. They would be great for sweeping. All they have to do is waddle backwards!

And that's how it goes at this week's Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Have a great weekend everyone
and thanks for stopping by for another whimsical tale.
