HERE COMES 2025!

Literal translation of "Auld Lang Syne" means
"Times long past."

Auld Lang Syne
by

(Scottish Version)

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne?

(Chorus)
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And surely ye'll be your pint-stowp!
And surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

(Chorus)
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

We twa hae run about the braes
And pu'd the gowans fine
But we've wander'd mony a weary foot
Sin auld lang syne.

(Chorus)
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

We twa hae paidl'd i' the burn,
Frae morning' sun till dine,
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
Sin auld lang syne.

(Chorus)
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

And there's a hand, my trusty fiere!
And gie's a hand o thine!
And we'll tak a right guid willy waught,
For auld lang syne.

(Chorus)
For auld lang syne, my jo,
For auld lang syne,
We'll tak a cup o'kindness yet,
For auld lang syne.

“Let’s take a cup of kindness yet,
For the sake of auld lang syne.”

    1. Thank you Ginny :) I used to listen to Hogmanay on the TV with my parents and sister as a child. It was televised from Scotland and the Scottish version was always sung as my family and I, and whomever was invited, crossed our arms and held hands with the person on each side as we moved arms up and down as we sang the old song. Another one of those treasured memories :) You are very kind asking me about my knee and I will definitely keep you posted. I also would like you to do the same about yours as we seem to be in the same boat. You have a wonderful year too my friend.
