I am going to be adding positive stories as I come across them. You may have heard this already but in Boone, North Carolina, officials confirmed that 62 members of the Pennsylvania Amish Community have completed the construction of 12 tiny homes in under 48 hours. This area was devastated by flash floods, landslides and collapsing roads during Hurricane Helene. The total cost of the project was $300,000, all of which was donated by the Amish Community. There are more homes to come.
People helping people, it certainly does the heart good.

DeleteThat's really lovely. And a gorgeous photo. I like Boone very much but didn't know they got such an impact from the floods.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie, I am glad you felt so. I added a link where you can read about the impact of Helen on Boone. They were not alone, many places suffered immensely, and it goes on everywhere. As Mr. Rogers mother said to him when he was a child, look for the helpers. There are many helpers in situations like this. All good people trying to do their best for others. With all the negative news out there that seems to run rampant, I wanted to point us in the direction of the many kind people who are helping others. Happy New Year my friend.
DeleteOH MY GOODNESS I had not heart this about the Amish...they are quite gifted in raising roofs quickly

Deletehe dedication and selflessness demonstrated by the Pennsylvania Amish Community are truly inspiring. In times of crisis, it's uplifting to see communities come together and support one another. The rapid construction of 12 tiny homes in less than 48 hours shows not only remarkable efficiency but also a deep sense of compassion and solidarity.
