WE MET HIM AT THE MANASSAS NATIONAL BATTLEFIELD PARK...

...near Bull Run, quite a while ago now.  What a sweet natured dog, a Long-haired German Shepherd.  His owner told us his name, but I've long since forgotten.  I'll call him Bear.  Bear sat patiently, looking thirsty.  It was a very hot day when I took his photo.

"You can say any foolish thing to a dog and the dog will give you a look that says, "Wow, you're right!  I never would've thought of that."

    1. Hi Linda, he certainly was :) I didn't know about this type either. I was only used to the short haired when I was young. My dad's colleagues used to bring their K-9's home quite often.

    1. That's a great name for a dog Pam :) Wouldn't you love to know what they are thinking? I still think that AI will get a translator for animal speech one day.

    1. Yes, he was Martha Ellen :) and I couldn't agree with you more. Thank you, so glad you liked his photo.

I have been finding my comments unpublished and this is one of them. It just popped up out of the blue on 10-13-22, so I deleted the original and retyped this with an explanation, even though I did one shortly after I published this post. So sorry if you thought I didn’t answer your comment Martha Ellen. I try to answer everyone. I have been finding lots of unpublished comments but from other blogging friends. So strange!

  14. He DOES kind of look like a bear, doesn't he? This is a great photo, Denise. I'm a dog person myself, and have had dogs all of my life. My favorite one was the dachshund when I was a young girl named Cinnamon. That dog quote is delightful.
