Thank you so for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer.
I appreciate all who look at my blog, but I won't be publishing any businesses. If you are only able to publish anonymously, would you sign your name please, and leave an addy so I can return your visit where possible? Thank you!
What an amazing photo. There is nothing anywhere around it. Reminds me of the plains, or something from "Little House On The Prairie"
ReplyDeleteHappy you liked it Ginny. This is part of Manassas Battlefield Park so there isn't building allowed. It does have the feeling of the old TV show, you're right :)
DeleteIt is a lovely house and thanks for the link, I'll go read about it.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it and you are very welcome Margaret :)
DeleteThat old stone house is very moody
ReplyDeleteYes, it has seen a lot since the day it was built :)
DeleteWonderful photo. What a piece of history this house is. It looks like it has been well taken care of over the years.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, its history is amazing :) The park authority keep it in tip-top shape. Very important to save our heritage. I only found out a while ago that I had ancestors who fought on both sides of that war, and even in the Colonial War. Before that I had no idea that any of my relatives from way back had emigrated here.
DeleteA very dramatic shot.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too David, it came out quite well :)
DeleteThe stone house is beautiful and I love the sky, beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteTake care, have a great day and a happy weekend.
Thank you Eileen, I was very happy how the photo turned out, and very pleased it was such a beautiful sky. You take care and I wish you the same for the weekend :)
DeleteBeautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Linda :)

ReplyDeleteThank you Val :) It's quite an interesting place and in a lovely setting :)
DeleteIts beautiful and I know how much you love the old stone houses... memories of home when you were younger, it think
ReplyDeleteI never thought of that before Sandra, but you may be spot on. Maybe it's why I love old stone buildings and old churches more than anything that is built today. I grew up being surrounded with them. Thanks my friend :)
DeleteGlad you could get out and about to visit the great old stone house!
ReplyDeleteIt was great to get out, thank Ellen :) Baby steps, ha!
DeleteThis would make a beautiful oil painting.
ReplyDeleteYou're right it would! :) Thanks Gigi!
DeleteI wonder if it has the ghosts of the soldiers wandering through it?
ReplyDeleteInteresting you should say that Rita. When I was searching for information on the house, I came across such a website. You can read that here:

I went and read about the house and the hauntings! Cool! :)
DeleteThere are some interesting stories there, glad you enjoyed them :)

DeleteLove the low floating clouds and the stone house
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilia
Thanks Cecilia, it's one of my favorite places to go to. We used to walk everywhere here, and I loved climbing the hill behind the house. The views are breathtaking.
DeleteI lived not far from there. We got a lot of company and there was always so much to show them. Ah, I miss it so.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful Margaret and love that you have three names to choose from :) It's a beautiful place and we haven't been there quite so much lately, so this was a very special visit.
DeleteThis is a stunning photo.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra, I was very happy how it turned out :)
DeleteInteresting article. I'm pretty sure I've seen that first picture that's shown in the article. Beautiful sky.
ReplyDeleteHi Leslie, much appreciated :) the other house is across from the Old Stone House, on the other side of the road in another field up on the hill. It's called the Henry House.
DeleteThat sky is amazing ...
