After discussing this with their 100 other family members on the roof, they all flew off and visited their raven cousins in the southwest. It was a bit of a surprise but who wouldn't be with 100 family members suddenly turning up? Crows don't have cell phones! In the meantime, a few days later...
They are also getting ready for the Conehead audition, at least their umbrella is. It all depends if it freezes or if the snow melts.
We're all glad it stopped snowing. Sofie is still clutching her pearls, I mean acorn, the Froggies3 are still watching the Kissing Bunnies. The audition was cancelled because the snow melted a few hours later. The old wise crow who foresaw the snow coming, is now warming his feathers in the sunshine and warmth of the southwest, and...
that's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.
Have a great weekend everyone
and thanks for flying in.
What a wonderful surprise! I did not know if there would be on today because you had to stop feeding the birds. I loved every second and photo!! The Coneheads! Did you see the movie? We only watched it a couple weeks ago, and thought it was hilarious!!! and now you have snow coneheads. This tickles me beyond belief!!
ReplyDeleteFortunately I have many, many, many photos that I have taken of our feathered friends. I did feed them - slap on the wrist - but with the snow I felt I had to. I am keeping up with news on the bird flu and will take appropriate action. I have a big bag of bird seed and once it is gone, hopefully the weather will be changing. I remember seeing scenes from the Conehead movie but I don't think I have watched it all the way through. I will have to do that. So glad my post tickled you Ginny. You always make me smile. Thank you my friend :)
DeleteGood morning Denise!
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful they are snowy at the Bird Feeder.
Despite the cold and snow, so much traffic!
I really like this on Saturdays!
Have a good weekend
Good morning Katerina :) We always seem to have a lot of traffic at a certain time of the day. So glad you liked my post, thank you and I hope you are having/have had a wonderful weekend.
DeleteYour sweet dialog turns the whole images into a giant harmony
ReplyDeleteA lovely comment Roentare, thank you so much! :)
Deleteyay for the return of sunshine and the melting of snow, now the birds can come back to feed and have their stories told
ReplyDeleteHeartily second that motion Sandra :) the birds are enjoying telling their stories. Thank you!
Deletegosh...still so much snow there? Here it starts to feel like spring....
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful Angie, enjoy your warm weather :)
DeleteAwww, so much fun! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteWe are now getting our first significant snowfall of the year and I am rejoicing!
Hi Val, you are very welcome, happy you enjoyed :) Enjoy your snow!
DeleteI wish I could have flown with those birds to a sunnier location. Poor Sofie must be freezing all covered in snow. At least with the kissing bunnies it looks like they are snuggled under a blanket.
ReplyDeleteYes, that would be nice wouldn't it? LOL! All's well with the birdy/bunny and squirrel world out there.
DeleteCute post, photos and story. I enjoyed Conehead and the snuggling bunnies. Stay safe and warm. Have a happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen, so glad :) I wish you the same.
Delete😬 That is a lot of snow right there!
ReplyDeleteYes, we've had quite a bit of it with more on Wednesday :)
DeleteHappy weekend!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you also, and thank you :)
DeleteDenise you are the most fun Bird Whisperer I know and for sure the birds are the first to indicate pending bad weather. They crowd to the feeders cause they know the ground will be covered
ReplyDeleteHugs and thanks for the smiles
Cecilia
That's a very nice title you've bestowed on me Cecilia, thank you my friend :) Yes, they are very good weather forecasters aren't they? Hugs and thanks to you also :)
DeleteYou did get a lot of snow. Your crow picture reminded me of the birds we saw yesterday. We were walking in Murrells Inlet SC on the MarshWalk. A bunch of birds flew in and landed on one of the boats. I took only a closeup picture. It was a bird I hadn’t seen before — a boat-tailed grackle. Now I have seen grackles but not that particular breed.
ReplyDeleteThat sound wonderful Linda. So glad you are having such a nice holiday. I have never heard of a boat-tailed grackle before. In fact, we haven't seen any regular grackles in a very long time.
DeleteWhen I see Saturday morning at the bird feeder, I say goodie, my favorite picture story.
ReplyDeleteAh Red, what a lovely thing to say, thank you so much :)))
DeleteHappy Saturday!
ReplyDeleteAnd to you too Christine :)
DeleteCool post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ann, :)
DeleteThe world looks better in winter white to me. ;)
ReplyDeleteZero degrees over here in Fargo. Our frigid spell continues. :)
Oh wow, that's cold! I hope it warms up for you soon Rita :)
DeleteIt looks like you might have as much or more than we do! Keep cozy!
ReplyDeleteWe had one day in the low 50s Jeanie, and it got rid of all our snow out back. One more day of snow next week looks like :) You keep cozy too!
DeleteI love this! Very clever.
ReplyDeleteHappy you do, thank you Sandra :)
