Hello,It is good info to know about the Possum. They are a little scary looking. Have a happy day and a great weekend!
Thank you Eileen, and happy day and a great weekend to you too :)
to me they are like pelicans, so ugly they are beautiful. we don't mind our possums but i do mind the racoons fighting with our dogs
Yes, that would be scary about the raccoons. I read your post this morning 😳
I don't think they are ugly either. :)
Thank you Martha 😊
I have never seen one! Our wild turkeys eat up the bugs!
Good little turkeys :)

Sim, são muitos bebês :) Obrigado, um abraço e desejo um feliz final de semana.
Not ugly at all. And very useful critters.
Yes indeed, thank you Sue :)
I've seen lots of possum, they eat ticks and are beneficial, here is one visiting before out screen porch - https://bluestarrgallery.blogspot.com/2015/04/a-frequent-visitor.html
I have just finished looking at your photos at the link Linda. They are great! Thank you so much!
ooooh those babies are adorable!! seems they are good to have around!!
Aren't they though? Yes, all part of the grand plan :)
I think they are cute! My daughter can’t stand them though ☹️
Hi Tanya, I have to say I have never seen them around here. I guess you either love them or hate them :)
I knew all of this except being immune to rabies. Possums are so cool, and I think they are kind of pretty! Except when they open their mouth and hiss.
Yes, that one was good to know, about the rabies. They are a very cool animal and the last time I saw one was at night, and his coat was so fluffy. I think I saw a show on TV where one had gotten inside someone's cupboard in their kitchen. I forget how it got there but when the man tried to remove it I saw those teeth! Would not want to be in that position, I have to say :)
Very educational info!
I thought so too Christine, thank you :)
I think they stick to the countryside here, and are nocturnal anyway.
Yes, they are nocturnal here too but with more of their land being taken away for housing, you find them in the area I've learned. Thank you William :)
An image full of information. For me, Opossums, like all animals, must be respected and protected, they are important for ecological balance.Have a great weekend
Thank you Maria, I agree wholeheartedly :) You have a great weekend also.
I was never quite fond of possums when we lived in Illinois, but the thought of them eating 5,000 ticks a year certainly makes them more desirable.
I have never seen one in our area, though I know they must be here. 5,000 ticks a year is a good resume ;) Thanks Kay!
I thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer. I appreciate all who look at my blog, but I am unable to publish businesses or anonymous visitors.
