  10. All so cool and different... I know the nene only through NYT crosswords, it seems to show up quite often. Recently a clue said "only state bird on the endangered list". Glad they're still there for you to take a picture. (Though I must admit I'd rather have that showy Cardinal if I were picking the symbol!)

  21. I knew the cardinal was seen in Florida, but not Hawaii....lucky you...it's magnificent. Love the Hawaiian State Bird too.

  28. Denise-- I was amazed at the beautiful birds when we traveled to Hawaii. So many colorful varieties. My favorite though.... were the wild chickens. I thought they were gorgeous..
