Lovely birds! The first one seems mis-named to me, as I always picture cardinals red all over!
ReplyDeleteAll gorgeous - and all exotic to my eyes.
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos. love the egret so graceful :)
ReplyDeleteA wonderful collection of critters in this post. Have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful birds, many of course we never see in Australia. Always wonderful to see fauna and flora of other countries.

I have never seen a red headed cardinal, looks like the head and body don't match.. love the plover
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to see such a different kind of cardinal from those who frequent my feeder!
ReplyDeleteAll so cool and different... I know the nene only through NYT crosswords, it seems to show up quite often. Recently a clue said "only state bird on the endangered list". Glad they're still there for you to take a picture. (Though I must admit I'd rather have that showy Cardinal if I were picking the symbol!)
ReplyDeleteThe Nene Goose shows up in crossword puzzles. I'm glad to see what one looks like. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteKauai is a great place for birds. I had a few firsts and lots of birds I couldn't identify.
