Today was a red-letter day, or you could say a red berry day. I went to the gardens for the first time since September 7th. It seemed much longer.
It was a short trip. When we were retracing our steps back to our car, I saw the berry bush alongside the path, one that I am very familiar with. However, it seemed to be the peak time to be laden with all those berries. Too good a chance to miss for taking photos. More from the garden in a few days.
I found this haiku to share.
Peeps under the bush
Between the green winter leaves
Smiling red berries.

DeleteWe have had heavy falls of snow this week in South Yorkshire and elsewhere. The garden birds will be glad of the berries. We see them pecking at the berries on the hawthorn tree. All the best dear blog friend.
ReplyDeleteHello Linda, yes the berries will be well fed. I hope all goes well with your weather. I was chatting to my brother-in-law in Germany and he had the same in his area. Thank you so much and all the best to you too dear blog friend.

ReplyDeleteWhen we see a lot of berries, we think it's going to be a cold winter - have you heard of that?
Hi Margaret and thank you. I have heard of that about an abundance of berries. By all reports our winter is going to be very mild, so we will have to keep an eye on the weather to see if that saying is correct :)
