HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE - POETRY IN MOTION

 The title came to me when I saw these birds walk, in total sync with each other, mother and child, poetry in motion. 


These are from my archives. I took my photo at the zoo in Norfolk, Virginia in September 2012. You can  enlarge the photo to get more detail.  The little baby is getting its feathers on the side of its wing I guess. The link below will give you more information.

    They are pretty birds, I have seen them in various zoos.

    I have seen these on T.V. documentaries before, but never real ones, even in zoos. I think they are mostly in Africa? This baby needs to grow into it's legs!

      I believe so Ginny, I read that they are found in nearly all of Africa, more so in eastern and southern Africa, and it is the national bird of Uganda, and has it in a circle in the middle of their flag. It would have been interesting to be closer so that I could have seen that baby grow up :)
