...near Bull Run, quite a while ago now. What a sweet natured dog, a Long-haired German Shepherd. His owner told us his name, but I've long since forgotten. I'll call him Bear. Bear sat patiently, looking thirsty. It was a very hot day when I took his photo.
"You can say any foolish thing to a dog and the dog will give you a look that says, "Wow, you're right! I never would've thought of that."
What a sweet doggie. I didn't know there were long-haired German Shepherds. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteHi Linda, he certainly was :) I didn't know about this type either. I was only used to the short haired when I was young. My dad's colleagues used to bring their K-9's home quite often.
DeleteWonderful looking creature Denise.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree Margaret :)

ReplyDeleteI knew you would Sandra :) How is Beau today? I will have to pop over and say hello later.
DeleteYep....my Dakota used to look at me like I was stupid though
ReplyDeleteThat's a great name for a dog Pam :) Wouldn't you love to know what they are thinking? I still think that AI will get a translator for animal speech one day.
DeleteHi Linda, agree and you two have a great weekend also :)
ReplyDeleteDave Barry was right. Unconditional happiness from our four legged friends never fails. Love this sweet photo of Bear, Denise.
ReplyDelete
DeleteYes, he was Martha Ellen :) and I couldn't agree with you more. Thank you, so glad you liked his photo.
I have been finding my comments unpublished and this is one of them. It just popped up out of the blue on 10-13-22, so I deleted the original and retyped this with an explanation, even though I did one shortly after I published this post. So sorry if you thought I didn’t answer your comment Martha Ellen. I try to answer everyone. I have been finding lots of unpublished comments but from other blogging friends. So strange!
He's a gorgeous dog and your photo really captures his personality.
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie, I tried hard to capture that :) He was such a sweet dog.
DeleteHe's a grand fellow.
ReplyDeleteHe certainly is :)
DeleteHe is looking up as if he is saying "huh"? Such a sweet looking doggie , Bear is.

DeleteLovely photo of my favourite breed of dog. WE had one for 15 years.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful Diane :) Thank you and for the share also.
DeleteHe DOES kind of look like a bear, doesn't he? This is a great photo, Denise. I'm a dog person myself, and have had dogs all of my life. My favorite one was the dachshund when I was a young girl named Cinnamon. That dog quote is delightful.
ReplyDelete~Sheri
Yes he does Sheri and thank you :) I had dogs my whole life growing up, and for a good part of my married life. Dachshunds are adorable and that's a great name. Glad you enjoyed the dog quote too.
DeleteIt is a beautiful dog...
ReplyDeleteIt certainly is, I fell in love with him on the spot :)
