  1. LOL. I love woodpeckers, the most industrious of birds (usually).

  2. So cute!! I go by the recipe, but love the adventure of trying new recipes every day.

  3. Great fun! The "Take Outs" are fine for birds, or are they, it may make them lazy to seek out other sources, As for myself, I never eat Take Out food, always home made, hardly ever use recipes, I mean I don't follow them, just know them by heart, usually from my mothers cooking by eye and feel.
    Enjoy your day Denise.

    1. Thanks Breathtaking :) I don't feed the birds in the warmer months, but our winters can be harsh and there isn't much natural food around at this time of the year. So, they get take-out, lol! That is birdseed and not human food. Our mother's meals stay with us don't they? I often cook the way my mother taught me, with the old traditional British meals I put on the table. I don't need a recipe book for that, but we do love trying various ethnic meals and for that we need a recipe book. I tend to stick to it, my dear other half is the adventurous one and he has shown me how to be more so since he retired and enjoyed getting into the kitchen :) You enjoy your day also!

  4. LOL cute conversation. I will follow a recipe the first couple times I make something but then I tend to wing it.

  6. I knew woodpeckers peck but had no idea they talk during breakfast. I am not a corner to corner, thus the reason recipes do not work well for me. I butter my bread hit or miss, bob does his corner to corner and takes so long to butter his bread it makes me crazy. I had not thought about the fact our personalites come out in buttering bread

    1. Well, Sandra, we have real chatty woodpeckers around here ;) Made me laugh about you and Bob and how you each butter your bread :) Yes, I'd say personalities are made loud and clear when the bread and butter comes out, lol!

  7. Cute! I take ideas from recipes, sometimes several different recipes for the same thing and then I wing it.

  9. Too cute. And something about this reminds me that Bill loved Greg's "recipe" for the roasted potatoes and onions (2 shakes of soy sauce etc....). We tried it the same day I read your post and ours also turned out super delicious. I wrote it down and that made Bill laugh and kind of bury his head in his hands in the "you're hopeless" sort of way .... and now you know the answer to your final question ))

    1. Well Sallie, you've made my day, and Gregg's too :) I put myself in your kitchen with Bill, you two sound very much like us :) Gregg is tickled that you enjoyed his this and that :)))
