MORE OLD FAMILY PHOTOS

Here are more finds from Gregg's genealogy search, old photos of his side of the family, distant cousins, on his mother's side.
All these photos we are guessing were taken in the early 1900s.

This young lady lived to be 104 years' old.

  1. In some of these pictures, they are actually smiling! That is rare for photos this old! People were just not able to hold a smile long enough for the picture to expose.

    1. That is the first thing we mentioned Ginny. We have seen photos of other families with those smiles and considering the wait, it is especially warming to see the children smile :)

  2. They are fabulous old photos. I reckon they will be with a lot of money in the future as artefacts because today our photos are digital and won't be kept like these. A sad thought.

    1. Thank you Diane. Technology I love it but as you said, the old ways that we remember will be gone. Everyone's grandchildren, however, will no nothing else.

  5. Very few of us get to really look back at the history associated with our families and where we came from. You've shared some lovely pics allowing us to peek into the past. I'm always fascinated with the clothing and cars from other eras. Hugs, RO

    1. Hi John, he certainly does. I always remember a friend who was very deep into genealogy years ago saying not only is it like being a detective, but once you start it is hard to stop because it becomes extremely enjoyable to find people. All the best to you too :)
