I am reading a biography on Elizabeth I by Alison Weir. A very well written book. Elizabeth was a force to be reckoned with.
"Fear not, we are the nature of the lion, and cannot descend to the destruction of mice and such small beasts."
~Elizabeth I~
An encouraging quote!
ReplyDeleteI thought so too.
DeleteStill, though...she was a force to be reckoned with, yet squeezed herself into a torniquet like corset anyway.
DeleteI don't know how they lived like that, or breathed!
Deleteso very glad I don't have to wear those clothes...
ReplyDeleteI second that!
DeleteThat is a great painting that I haven't seen before. She was a powerful and fascinating queen. I read another book by that author, can't recall the title.
ReplyDeleteThank you Terra, I know she has written before and I would enjoy reading more of her work.
DeleteThat's leadership! Comparisons are obvious and odious
ReplyDeleteI admired her greatly.
DeleteGoodness, what a quote. And I really like this portrait of her.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginny!
DeleteDefinitely a force to be reckoned with.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed!
