THE LAST PARTAKING OF THE SUMMER WINE

A little play on words.  The bees were busy collecting from the last of the summer flowers.

  2. Oh MY!!!!!!!!!!! What glorious pictures!!! Really, they are sharp, clear, and detailed. They should be in National Geographic magazine. I hope you didn't get stung! I think the first flower is a wild sunflower. You amaze me with your photography.

    1. Thank you Ginny, what a sweet comment! Bees don’t seem to bother me when I take their photos and I have never gotten stung. These were actually cell phone photos that I took and though it looks like I was very close, I cropped them to bring out the detail. These cells are getting better than any small camera I have ever owned and the colors seem more vibrant. Thank you for IDing the flower and again for your very sweet comment :)

    1. Thank you EC :) I agree, bees are beautiful and may have a sting but they are surprisingly gentle creatures. I do sympathize with those who have allergies though, which I understand can have dangerous consequences if they are stung.

  7. Wow great photos Denise, well done. Not easy to get bees sharp and clear as well I know, and they do not hang around for long in each place. Take care Diane

    1. Thanks Sandi, I have tried to take photos of other bees and these were by far the most cooperative. All my photos were taken with my cell phone and I was very happy they came out sharp and clear, because I cropped right down to the bee. I was not as close as it would appear.
