RANDOM PHOTOS- LOST AND FOUND DEPARTMENT AT THE BEACH

We came across this fence on our road trip last Spring, near a beach.  I am assuming this collection is what the owners found on the beach and started their own lost and found department.  Or maybe it was just an artsy piece. Or more importantly cleaning up everyone’s mess and a reminder to us all to take home whatever we bring with us, that our oceans have enough rubbish in them, that we need to be more ecologically responsible.  Whatever the answer, I found it a very interesting display of beach clutter, and it left a lasting impression.

We are filling the oceans with our plastic discards. Not good. NOt good at all.

    1. Hi Ginny, it is amazing what we find on the beach when we take even the shortest walk. Yes, clever creativity on one hand, and all that junk in the other.

  4. It's a good idea to shame the nation like this. I wonder if anyone claims something from that display?

    1. It wasn't my intention to shame anyone Valerie, more a reminder not only to others but to myself. And not just for the beach but for everything in my life. Wherever possible I am doing my best to not use anything with plastic, and hopefully one day they will invent a disposable kind.

  5. When you look at all that stuff on the fence it's incredible to contemplate how much of it is made of plastic.

  6. Hello Denise, that is funny. A lost and found fence. Or it could be their crafty way of decorating? Looks cool! Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!

  8. Hi Denise,
I can understand the flip flops and most of the other items but what do you use a funnel for on the beach? Great idea mind and as David said, look how much is made of plastic.
    All the best, John

  10. I think it must be lost and repurposed beach finds! They definitely brightened up the fence!

  13. Enjoyed this post and everyone’s comments, Denise. The fence hangings coule be both a lost and found collection or just a personal statement. I wondered if anyone would have claimed anything. And, yes we try to avoid some types of packaging too but not always possible, so responsible recycling is a solution.

  18. Love this -- art out of found objects (actually junk that would help to clog up our ocean, our life-blood) .. art that makes a statement for sure.
