Last weekend we had the wonderful opportunity of being around these rather splendid looking white geese, and for the most part they were busy preening their feathers.
There were also a couple of Guinea Fowl in the area. This one was crying out all the time.
I always find them rather extraordinary looking but it was the first time I had heard their call.
I am sharing them with the following. Thank you Anni and Stewart for two great memes.

These are amazing photos! I especially love the geese photos period while their feathers are so beautiful ruffled up like that. I am wondering if their fathers are like that all the time or if it's because they were fluffing them. Love the face of the guinea fowl
ReplyDeleteruffling his feathers
ReplyDeleteLuff the Fluff. The vivid coloring of the 'guinnie' is very nice.
ReplyDeleteHello, pretty photos and great captures of the geese and guinea. Happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeletelove the pretty feathers on the geese. guinea are odd birds. :)
ReplyDeleteI love these photos. We used to have a neighbor who had Guinea fowl. I think they gave up on them after they kept escaping. I love the curly geese!
ReplyDeleteI like the guinea fowl but the white geese are my favourite ...

May you have a lovely weekend.
All the best Jan
This series is absolutely gorgeous and delightful, Denise! I love all the beautiful details of these amazing birds!
ReplyDeleteThey are ADORABLE!! I want to give them a big hug :)
ReplyDeleteMy SIL kept geese and flow for a while until something killed them...Foxes, Raccoons, Chicken Hawks. Last time I visited he had netting all over his duck/chicken yard and shelters.
ReplyDeleteThat goose looks a bit disheveled..he needs a good preening!
ReplyDeleteThe geese are beauties. I can't recall if I've ever seen the guinea before.
ReplyDeleteAmazing photos!
ReplyDeleteLove them. And yes, the Guinea Fowl do look odd. Chicken crossed with turkey?
ReplyDeleteYou found some very attractive birds.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that first ruffled goose. No wonder you enjoy your walks so much.
ReplyDeleteYour participation this weekend at I'd Rather B Birdin' is highly appreciated. Thanks for linking in.
ReplyDeleteDenise...incredible, crisp and oh so sharp the photos are. Beautiful. Yes, those guinea fowl can be loud!!!
Hello Denise!:) Lovely sharp images of both birds. The Guinea Fowl really is an odd looking bird, with a small head that doesn't seem to match the rest of the body, but what an interesting bird. Thank you for sharing.:)
ReplyDeleteWow !! Beautiful creatures !!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos !!
Happy weekend :)
Those geese are as pretty as swans! Loved seeing these wonderful photos of them and the guinea fowl too. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteThe geese are so beautiful with their ruffled up feathers. I have seen Guinea fowls in the zoo but have never heard their call.
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, some super images of the White Geese but for me the Guinea Fowls are tops, super post. Regards John.
ReplyDeleteWow the white geese and quinea fowl are both beautiful! Don't know why the dates of the meme sprung back to what was filled in by V20's host - maybe I was too much in a hurry, so it's not entirely your fault:):) There's always next (or another) week if you have set your heart on showing one of these two! It's flattering that you make SEASONS so important:) Have a great week Denise!
