IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY - IN MY MIND I AM…

In my mind I am 24, but my back is 55, my knee is 67 and my left hip turns 76 today.

A little humor for you on my birthday.

Ostriches will often walk around and then forget where they are going. I have never related more to an animal in my life.

I am doing well with my prism prescription glasses and no longer see double (until I take them off).  This lady gave me a bit of a start when I did. It might take you a second or two, look at her hair above her face. For a minute I…

Thought this was a muppet.

An oldie but it still makes me laugh and I really am joking here, but my funny bone/quirky humor got a chuckle.

The older I get, the more I understand why people live in the woods
and talk to squirrels.

I can be a bit naughty and that quirky humor can get me in trouble at times, but I do love squirrels.

“Hey, excuse me…but the Bird Feeder is empty.”

One of these does not care that I haven’t filled the bird feeder. Is he searching for his acorn? The other three aren’t telling and the one has forgotten he is supposed to put his hands over his ears, not up his nose! What's up with that then? Silly squirrel!
The fourth squirrel has arrived…he sees no one, hears no one and talks to everyone.”

And then there is this one.

“Happy Birthday lady, but can you now feed the squirrels, I mean birds.”

Okay, enough of squirrels, well almost enough.

Just look at her…the way she’s crawling to the coffee pot. Keep it up lady, you’re almost there.”

Ahhhh…

“Behold, the sacred brew has arrived.”

That’s enough of the squirrels for today. I am being taken out to lunch. I am not sure where yet, but I will tell you in a day or so.

Have a great Wednesday,
thanks for dropping in and
don’t forget to embrace
your inner ostrich.

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER

Froggy3 the 1st was worried about where he had parked his lily pad. Froggy3 the 3rd was also worried and thought Froggy3 the 1st should move it to be safe. Froggy3 the 2nd, who is in a perpetual state of not knowing, decided to say nothing, as did their visiting Black-capped Chickadee friend because she was already confused.

In the meantime, when Froggy3 the 1st decided to move his lily pad, he found that it was missing and went into his problem-solving mode.

And that's how it goes on
A Saturday Morning at the Birdfeeder,
where they are still searching for
the missing Lily Pad. I really do think
it was 'toad'. Groan if you wish but...

Thank you for flying in and...

Photo 1:

"What happens to illegally parked frogs?" "They get 'toad'."

Photo 2:

Another play on words. "I need someone to help me 'quack' the case and find out who has been 'robin' me.

Photo 3:

"Why are they groaning. It wasn't that bad."

Photo 4:

"That bird joke flew right over my head."

SOME KIND OF BIRD BALLET - AN OLD ONE PUT HOPEFULLY WORTH REPEATING

All photos were taken at the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Wildlife State Park in Florida, which you can find here. It was a lot of fun to see all these beautiful birds, many that are wild and fly in just for feeding time, or as the lady with the bucket of fish said quite seriously, "We try to keep the moochers from stealing all the food."
One of our stars is the Great White Heron, along with a chorus of all White Ibises.

Jumping into the arms of her prince - again - a White Ibis.

The Wood Stork is definitely a diva!

Next the Anhinga...

and the same bird below displaying her perfect form.

Waiting in the wings, a Barred Owl.

A lovely ballet pose displayed by the Wood Stork.

A Mute Swan stretching her toes and getting ready to jump in.

Our White Ibis, posing for the cameras backstage.

She decided to give the paparazzi her back view. Sometimes she gets so tired of being followed around all day, having her photograph taken.

The Brown Pelican is a little late for her cue.

The Red-shouldered Hawk was very vocal. Well... you sometimes get a heckler in the audience.

The Crested Caracara was wearing a beautiful costume. Brava my dear, brava!

The Black-crowned Night Heron, who flew over the stage, needed no wires and was a complete blur.

The White Pelicans are about to make their entrance.

But finally, another performance is over. The Mute and Black Swans are relieved that all went well. No one tripped over their tutu. It is time to take a well-deserved rest.

That’s the end of our Bird Ballet.
Thanks so much for taking your seat and I wish you all a wonderful day.

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - A THUNDERSTORM

Those birdies just can't stop telling groaners but that's how it goes on a
Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder.

Thanks for flying in.
I wish you a very happy and blessed day.

“It rained hard last night.”
“I was glad to get back to my nest.”
“Mr. And Mrs. had to drive around a fallen tree on a back road. Someone had put those emergency cones out.”

Photo 2:

“If  a thunderstorm starts and a band is playing, who is the most likely one to get hit by lightning?”

Photo 3:

“The Conductor of course.”
“Oh boy! I can’t believe you said that.”

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER

Our Cardinal is a Quodophile, which is a popular slang term often used in online communities for a devoted lover of quotes.

And now we know that that's how it is going to go this week on another whimsical

Saturday Morning at the Birdfeeder...

because the woman of the house had no clue as to where this was going but the wise old owl below did apparently.

Thanks for groaning along with me

Have a great weekend!

“Poor indeed is the garden in which birds find no home. Abram L. Urban said that.”

SATURDAY MORNING AT THE BIRD FEEDER - BIRDWATCHING?

The pair of Tufted Titmice had their own opinions on the matter.

That's how it goes on a Saturday Morning at the Birdfeeder, where imagination is a fine thing, and being away with the fairies is a fun place to be. The inner child will thank us.

I hope my latest touch of whimsy gave you a smile.

Thanks for flying in and
may your weekend be a great one,
whichever planet you are living on.
