The first few photos were taken through the screen of the patio door in lots of sunlight. The reason for the occasionally tiny light show.
The House Finches arrived first. Not the sharpest photos
The frogs didn't look as happy as I was at the sight of the returning birds…
but very few know how to do the happy dance inside their heads.
The Mourning Doves are the only ones I have seen drinking out of the new froggy birdbath.
The frogs were not impressed at the dove's version of Swan Lake. I was though and well done Dame Dove! Tchaikovsky would have been proud!
This was my first sighting of the Dark-eyed Junco since last April. It is a cold weather months' bird in our area. Almost completely in shadow underneath the table, the photo is not that sharp but it's a memory for me to look back on. If you click on this website, you'll be able to see it properly.

Yes, they are coming. And you will be their meal ticket for the winter. Smart birds. I love the takeoff shots of the finch and dove. We get the juncos when it snows. We also call them snowbirds.

DeleteBeautiful shots of “your” birds... I'm happy to look at them. When the leaves have fallen, I put the birdhouse under the large lilac bush in the garden. The birdbath under the bush is still heavily visited, most often by blue tits and great tits and the blackbird also likes to come by... it's so nice to see, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteRegarding your entry with me, it's great that you also have contact in Norway and Germany. I live in the east of Germany, which means that we were only able to really travel after the wall/border was opened... and we did that as best we could with our children... we were out and about in Norway very often and have We totally fell in love with this country, which is why I also learned Norwegian. Of course we also visited other countries, my last nice trips were Ireland - 14 days in Kerry - and by car across Sardinia. However, I also dream a lot about traveling... and it's so wonderful to be here in blogland. I am pleased about our acquaintance.

It is very easy to fall in love with Norway. We vacationed there in 2014 as part of a trip to Europe. My husband's family on his father's side were Norwegian immigrants and we all visited the area he was from. It was an amazing trip and the people were very hospitable and very helpful in our search for family information. It was a trip of a lifetime and one we will treasure for the rest of our lives. Deletelove that dove with the lifted wings. i wondered if the frogs would scared the birds. Doves are dumb and not scared of dogs or people, looks like frogs don't bother them either
