"When you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You appreciate it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying, 'You’re too this' or 'I’m too this.' That judging mind comes in. So, I practice turning people into trees - which means appreciating them just the way they are."

Wow, this is totally cool!!!!!

LOL, loved tht Donna, thank you :)
DeleteBeautiful trees!
ReplyDeleteI think I saw an interview with this man a while back. He reminds me of the hippies of the 1960's.
I would have enjoyed watching that Sandi :)
DeleteLove the view of the forest and the quote. Take care, have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThank you and the same to you ;)
DeleteIt's good to be in the forest.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, I love walking there :)
Deletetruer words were never spoken! this is super cool. if only us humans could do this. it is so hard to accept others as they are when they are so different than ourselves. I do better than some, but the thing in our head that judges others, peeps out of me once in a while. a friend texted me yesterday that a friend of theirs has been banned from eating lunch every day in Golden corral because he makes the waitstaff that are overweight cry by the things he says to them. I read that and thought i hope he gets FAT... judging fat is something i don't do because been there done that.. i do say if i judege I do it in my head and not to the person I am judging. alas Humans!
ReplyDeleteThat man missed great opportunities of lifting others' spirits rather than dragging them down.
DeleteReading Donna and her thought of squirrels on our branches made me drop a few brown leaves uncontrollably!!!
ReplyDeleteMe too, made me smile :)
DeleteA beautiful shot. A thought provoking quote.
ReplyDeleteTotal agreement :)
DeleteKey idea here is that we are judgmental...too judgmental.

ReplyDeletearound here, we have a lot of deer ticks and i am always worried about really enjoying the woods, the way i would like to.
Two words we need more of, understanding and acceptance. Beautifully put Debbie :) I agree, we do have to be careful of those nasty deer ticks.
DeleteOh, that is way too true!
ReplyDeleteYes indeed :)
DeleteThis is beautiful, Denise and so true. I need to do this. I think we're seeing too much of either Democrat or Republican in this country.
ReplyDeleteI agree Kay, we need to start looking at each other like trees :)

ReplyDeleteVery much so :)
