WHEN YOU GO INTO THE WOODS...

"When you go out into the woods and you look at trees, you see all these different trees. And some of them are bent, and some of them are straight, and some of them are evergreens, and some of them are whatever. And you look at the tree and you allow it. You appreciate it. You see why it is the way it is. You sort of understand that it didn’t get enough light, and so it turned that way. And you don’t get all emotional about it. You just allow it. You appreciate the tree. The minute you get near humans, you lose all that. And you are constantly saying, 'You’re too this' or 'I’m too this.' That judging mind comes in. So, I practice turning people into trees - which means appreciating them just the way they are."

  3. Beautiful trees!

I think I saw an interview with this man a while back. He reminds me of the hippies of the 1960's.

  5. truer words were never spoken! this is super cool. if only us humans could do this. it is so hard to accept others as they are when they are so different than ourselves. I do better than some, but the thing in our head that judges others, peeps out of me once in a while. a friend texted me yesterday that a friend of theirs has been banned from eating lunch every day in Golden corral because he makes the waitstaff that are overweight cry by the things he says to them. I read that and thought i hope he gets FAT... judging fat is something i don't do because been there done that.. i do say if i judege I do it in my head and not to the person I am judging. alas Humans!

    1. That man missed great opportunities of lifting others' spirits rather than dragging them down.

    1. Two words we need more of, understanding and acceptance. Beautifully put Debbie :) I agree, we do have to be careful of those nasty deer ticks.

  12. This is beautiful, Denise and so true. I need to do this. I think we're seeing too much of either Democrat or Republican in this country.
