"I see nothing in space as promising as the view from a Ferris wheel."
It is an intriguing quote. Thoughts?
Added this later.
I can't describe just how I feel,
when I go round on a Ferris wheel,
the lights, they shine so bold and bright,
above the carnival grounds tonight.
My mood is uplifted into the air,
as my heart beats without a care,
I feel so free, as if I could fly,
with nothing between the ground and I.
The cool night wind flows in my hair,
the people look so small, way down there,
I hold my breath as I go over the top,
a feeling, surreal, I don't want to stop.
As fear escapes and I enjoy the ride,
I can't help but look down, over the side,
I am up among the stars and the moon,
an exciting feeling that ends, all too soon.

Oh my goodness, this is a beautiful photo. And the reflections, WOW!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ginny, I am happy you enjoyed it :)
DeleteMuch as I like his work, I would disagree with him. The constellations (and the moon) blow me away.
ReplyDeleteWe think the same way about this quote Sue :) I would have enjoyed his reasoning behind it. And I am always looking up at the moon and the stars.
DeleteDefinitely take ones eye that scene.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great sight when we first see it as we crossed the bridge :)
DeleteLovely view.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne :)
DeleteWell isn't that lovely. It sure makes a pretty reflection in the water too.
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more Ann :)
DeletePretty view, but I do not agree with the quote. The poem is cute. Take care, have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteAgree with you on the quote Eileen. I was glad I found the poem to temper it, and I was interested in what blogging friends thought so thank you :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful view! Love the reflection in the water.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed Angie, thank you :)
DeleteA great photo of the colourful ferris wheel. I can't remember the last time I went on a ferris wheel.
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane, I do remember our last trip on a ferris wheel and that was in the cold weather months. It has been years and I haven't been on one since as I seem to have developed a fear of heights and enclosed spaces, but it's a fun memory.
DeleteAwsome photo, of the ferris wheel and all that surrounds it.. great shot.
ReplyDeleteThanks Sandra :)
DeleteCant say that I got this one
ReplyDeleteI think I'm still thinking about it Christine :)
DeleteFantastic image. But, e. b. Can have the ferris wheel & feel free as he wants ...not me. 🙂
ReplyDeleteLOL! Wish he was still around so that we could tell him that Anni. Me neither!
DeleteI have never had ride on a Ferris wheel.
ReplyDeleteOnly once or twice for me too Red :)
DeleteBeautiful capture of this scene with the Ferris Wheel. It looks like a huge sucker you can buy at a carnival. It's been ages since I've been on a Ferris Wheel. The wheel in London in 2003 was probably the last time. Happy week to you!
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it Ellen. It is huge, I'll have to do some research. I saw the London Eye but didn't go on it as the line was too long and I don't have the patience or the energy to wait in long lines any more. Happy weekend to you too :)
DeleteWhat a lovely image!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jenn, glad you enjoyed :)
DeleteThat is huge.
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed :)
DeleteThat's a fantastic photo of the Ferris Wheel, Denise. Lovely reflection on the river! I used to love a ride on one when I was young, but I'm afraid of heights in my old age now. Lovely poem as always, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Martha Ellen, and you and me both on the height issue my friend :)
DeleteGreat shot. I have not been there.
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda, it's a fun trip :) Not sure how far you are away from it though.
DeleteThank you Linda, I loved that reflection. Have a couple of more photos to share of it some time :)
