EXHIBITS AT THE FRALIN MUSEUM

The Fralin Museum of Art at the University of Virginia is much smaller than ones I have been to, but their exhibits are as interesting as any I have seen in larger museums.

If you need to see anything up close, don't forget you can enlarge each photo by clicking on them for a better view, and an easier read of the explanations.
My tastes in art tend to be more traditional...
but I can still appreciate an artist's work and their reasons for creating such a piece.

And I really liked the flooring, as I did the colors they used for painting this large room.

There were others on display but I think I have shared enough for today.  I will have one more post on an exhibit tomorrow, one that I found so interesting I am going to make it the main subject of my next post.

Enjoy your week everyone, and thank you for taking a look at my shares from the Fralin Museum of Art in Charlottesville, Virginia.

  1. I really must go! I especially like the Pompeii exhibit. And Marisol. One could look at that forever, and still see new things!

    1. Hi Ginny, Pompeii was one of my favorites too. I would like my son to see it as he visited the ruins of Pompeii years ago with his grandfather, and I remember his photos vividly.

  3. It might be smaller than some, but there are hours (and hours) worth of wonder just in the pieces you have shared.

  7. Nice to see diversity in cultures and in art. For some reason when I saw the print of the storage shelf, I was reminded of skeletons and old bones.

  8. my favorite photos today are the rooms. I love the symmetry of the walls and the photos. that is what appeals to me. for some reason, I like that first painting of a subject that I don't love. the pants drooping off. the painting appeals to me, not sure why. true talent in all of them

    1. I agree Sandra, they are really beautifully done. And I was quite taken with that painting too, and like you I had the same feeling.

  12. I tend to like the more traditional, too, but then every now and then something modern really grabs me. Some of all of it, I am amazed at the talent, and some I wonder how did it get there!

Thank you so for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy reading them very much and always try to return a visit. As I do monitor comments it may take a while for them to appear, even quite late depending on what is going on and how much time I am able to spend on the computer.

I appreciate all who look at my blog, but I won't be publishing any businesses. If you are only able to publish anonymously, would you sign your name please, and leave an addy so I can return your visit where possible? Thank you!
