Nope, but....
you are never too old to hug a teddy bear.
My old one is still around but stored away for safe keeping. Below is an old photo I have shared before, and if you know me from my old blog, maybe you remember the photo. That bear was a gift from my parents when I was a year old.
Yes, I'm still hugging them, just maybe not quite as often.
I have some much loved bears at home too. And would have been tempted to take the giant bear home. I would probably have resisted. Probably.
ReplyDeleteHow very nice to know we both love our bears :)
DeleteI would take him home my daughter had the same when she was a toddler
ReplyDeleteLucky little girl :)
DeleteOh you are a girl after my own heart. I love hugging bears and soft toys. Like youI do it in the super market much to Bill's embarrassment.
ReplyDeleteKindred spirits, how lovely :)
DeleteThat bear is bigger than you!! What wonderful pictures of you then and now! Your bear even had a pretty dress on, and so do you today.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ginny, and thank you for your sweet comments :)
DeleteKeep hugging, Denise. I have one about half the size of the one in your picture. At the moment he sleeps in a cupboard but when he wakes I hug him. I've been debating whether to dispose of him but something keeps stopping me. Joe won him at an auction so there is an extra reason for keeping him.
ReplyDeleteI surely will Valerie. Mine will no doubt make it out of the cupboard one of these days :) Don't ever give your teddy away Valerie, no matter what. It is a sweet connection with Joe, like my teddies are to my parents and my sister :)
DeleteHow sweet to see you cuddling your precious bear in the b&w photo!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter would bring the big bear home for sure!
Have a lovely day!
Thank you Christine and good for your daughter :))) Lovely day to you too :)
DeleteHello Denise, I love the photos of you hugging the bears. Have a happy day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen and a happy day to you too :)
DeleteWe have several teddy bears sharing our apt and at one time there were more, but downsizing meant parting with some. Still, this year we added a new one purchased during our visit to the Vermont Teddy Bear Company. You can never have too many favorite teddys, Denise. Thanks for sharing the story ofnyour first one too.
ReplyDeleteDorothy, we are downsizing too, so no more bears, unless one jumps up into my arms the next time I pass one by that speaks to me, lol!
Deletewow on keeping that bear your whole life. at one time I could not see my bed for the bears and dolls. when I got married in 63 I got rid of all of them. that is one life sized bear you are hugging... I have not one single thing from my childhood.
ReplyDeleteWe are trying to downsize Sandra, but I would never be able to part with my one true teddy bear, as well as several others that are of great sentimental value to me. Yep, he was a big teddy. Don't think I have ever had one that big and never will. Downsizing Denise, downsizing! lol!
DeleteOh, Denise, you look so cute hugging that bear.. back then and now. They are so cuddly. Wish i had one.
ReplyDeleteSweet of you to say so Latane. And yes they are so cuddly.
DeleteNow that's a bear, he's going to be hard to sneak into the house.
ReplyDeleteHe would have been Jimmy :)
DeleteHa ha...teddy bears are made for hugging! I have never own a teddy bear but I do love hubby one whenever I pass by them. Lol! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThey are indeed Nancy. Thank you and you have a wonderful day too :)
DeleteThat one's almost as tall as you!
ReplyDeleteAnd there was a whole box of them. Tried to pick up another one but that would have been nigh impossible to hold two at one time :)
DeleteReally sweet pictures! I agree, we are never too old to hug teddy bears. :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane :)
DeleteI had a beautiful big bear and a pair of pandas when we lived in the UK. Wish I knew where they went to when we arrived in Rhodesia in 1953 :-(( Love this post Diane
ReplyDeleteHow interesting Diane, yes I wonder where they ended up. Glad you enjoyed the post, thank you :)
DeleteHi Denise and wow, that really is some bear, if you took that to bed with you it would take over the whole bed. Love the image of you with your bear. All the best, John
ReplyDeleteIt certainly would John. Thank you and all the best from me :)
DeleteThat bear is so big, Denise! Lovely photos. And I agree, you are never to old to hug a teddy bear! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Linda :)
DeleteThat's something I never had as a child. Glad you got a good hug in!
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen :)
DeleteThat is one BIG bear. I have one that my mom got me with stamps I think, when I was probably in the 10th grade. Love it and have held on to it all these yrs. My son has a stuffed dog that I got for my daughter to give him when he turned 5....Scruffy. Scruffy went to Calif. with him and is in the top of his closet. I love it...I also have a stuffed rabbit that I got when me and a guy that I dated in high school, it was for our 8th month....We dated over 2 yrs and thought we would marry but I broke it off cause I was out of school and working out around other guys that turned my head.....oh the memories.
ReplyDeleteLots of lovely memories there Pam, thank you for sharing them.
DeleteAww Denise!

DeleteHow wonderful that you still have your Teddy Bear!
