In the above photo, near the second car from the right parked next to the wall, is the archway leading into the Bishop's Garden. We are on the seventh floor where we can see the most incredible views. The photo only shows half of the garden. There is a large lawn to the right out of sight.
The roses were a little past their prime but I loved the sunflowers. They were the star of the show today, not forgetting the Cathedral behind them.
I love the sunflowers as well, Denise, and the Mockingbird is a lovely way to end your post. I love places like this, they are so beautiful and soothing. Thank you so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou are so very welcome Linda, always happy you enjoy :)
DeleteOh my. Oh my, oh my, 0h my.

DeleteOH!! Your sunflower shots are so gorgeous!!! I love sunflowers! I especially love pictures 7, 8, 9, and 10! Well, it is so hard to pick a favorite...oops, I should not have mentioned the word PICK!
ReplyDeleteHappy you liked those sunflowers Ginny, they were just begging to have their photos taken, lol.
DeleteWow what gorgeous gardens, a lot of work must go into keeping them as good as this. I also love sunflowers, big smiley faces :-) Thanks once again for a great tour. Diane
ReplyDeleteThank you Diane and you are always welcome.
DeleteOh - beautiful. I can almost smell it. Oddly enough, you could almost be in Devon, or Kent, or somewhere - apart from the mocking bird! I see you're still building your cathedrals too, just like in the UK..! :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Mike, I agree. It reminded me very much of the Cathedral in Exeter. The scaffolding you saw are actually for repairs from a 5.8-magnitude earthquake in our state in 2011. Took everyone by surprise as we don't usually get them here and haven't since. It caused an estimated $32 million in damage to the Cathedral. I didn't realize the extent of the damage until I visited this time and that it was still an ongoing project.
DeleteThe bird on the carved stone punctuates beautifully the incredible works pictured of architectural and nature’s art.
ReplyDeleteThank you Penelope :)
DeleteThank you for sharing this post of Bishop's Garden. What an amazing place to visit and your photos of all of those sunflowers are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLoved the mockingbird.
Have a wonderful week.
You are always welcome Prunella, glad you enjoyed and hope you have a wonderful week too.
DeleteHello Denise!:) I love the archway to the Bishop's Garden, the font,( at least it looks like a font,) and the profusion of sunflowers in the garden. I see that the beautiful cathedral is being repaired, quite rightly so, to be enjoyed for generations to come. It does look like a peaceful place to spend some time, and how delightful it would be to hear the song of the Mockingbird singing from atop a carved stone in the garden. It was a nice way to end your post.:)
ReplyDeleteHello Breathtaking :) So glad you enjoyed this post. The repairs you see are from an earthquake several years ago. It sustained considerable damage apparently. I was surprised to see that this was still ongoing, and did not realize how bad it was.
DeleteHello, the garden and cathedral are beautiful. I love the shots with the sunflowers and cathedral. Cute shot of the Mocker. Happy Tuesday, enjoy your day and the week ahead!

ReplyDeleteIt would be a great place to sit for a while and remain hidden, there are several nooks and crannies and quite corners.
DeleteI love those sun flowers. I wouldn't mind seeing some in Hawaii.
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are one of my favorites.
