Time to join Tanya's fun meme, Willy-Nilly Friday Five. Thanks Tanya! You can visit other participants here.
All five photos are not mine. I found them at Pixabay. They are royalty free.
1) What's been happening this week: my sister-in-law visited us for the week and we had a lot of fun hanging out. I had phone calls from my brother-in-law and niece on different days. They live in Germany and I will never get over how clear the connection is, one on Skype, the other on Facetime. It had been a while and we had a great time catching up. We talked about needing to get together again in the not too distant future, and I miss them very much. In the meantime I am now making plans with dear friends I am able to see more regularly, as they live not too far away.
2) Create Your Own Stick People. I found this super cute, for little kids but also for big kids. You can make your own stick family here.
3) Animals will mass migrate as the planet changes, and you can see and read where this will take place. Article here.
4) The Dinosaurs of Crystal Palace: among the most accurate renditions of prehistoric life ever made. Interesting article here.
5) I love reading poetry. Here is a cute one from from Shel Silverstein. I could not help myself but be the little voice in my child's life but I suppose what he is saying is that you have to decide for yourself what is best for you.
The Voice
"There is a voice inside of you
That whispers all day long.
'I feel this is right for me,
I know that this is wrong.'
No teacher, preacher, parent, friend
Or wiseman can decide
What's right for you.
Just listen to the voice
That speaks inside."
Shel Silverstein
I do like that poem!
ReplyDeleteSomedays that little voice is LOUD isn't it?
ReplyDeleteNice poem, Denise! And isn't it great to spend time with family and loved ones? I do use Skype and in fact, I spoke to a fellow blogger and friend in Ireland today, we have known each other online since 2002!!! We have never met face to face...but being able to chat with her on Skype, I feel as though I have met her many times over, as we chat on a weekly basis. :)
ReplyDeleteNowadays. Connection between continents is great
ReplyDeleteNow this is quite the collection!
ReplyDeletethe problem with the voice inside is there are way to many that have an evil voice and they think it is ok. this poem used to be good for everyone, but not now...to have the voice tell you what to do your inside has to care for others and what God thinks of us. I love those cute socks
ReplyDeleteisn't shel silverstein great?! when i was in about 3rd grade our teacher would read to us every day a poem or two from "where the sidewalk ends" and i just loved them and it was the first i had learned about poetry..well not too long after, we were driving to my grandparents house and pass a "poultry" plant and i told my mom i wanted to go there to get the book our teacher was reading to us...my mom could not understand why i thought i could get a book from the poultry plant until she realized i meant "poetry" haha and then that is when i learned the difference between poetry and poultry :D have a great weekend denise and thank you for linking!
ReplyDeleteConnections to family and friends are very valuable in our lives, Denise. One day we hope to reconnect face to face with you and Gregg, whether on line or in person, hopefully both ways.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem and you found the perfect images to go with your post. Time with loved ones is very special. Dinosaurs and stick people have made my day! :) Happy Friday!
ReplyDeleteThat poem from Shel Silverstein is great!
ReplyDeleteI like your choice of photo's you've used.
All the best Jan
I've always loved Shel Silverstein...great little poem by him! Thanks for sharing it. Hope you do get to spend more time with your friends, both near and far. My biggest regret is not being able to get back to Virginia to see my Mom and maybe I can do that this next year. I really need to see her! Have an awesome week!
