I am sharing five photos for the memes mentioned below with my favorite backyard birds These were taken a month ago during the first real heavy, and hopefully last, snowfall. This week it is in the 70's. I have been looking forward to the warmer weather more this year than any other, and went out for the first time yesterday in short sleeves.
1) Black-capped Chickadee (1)
2) Black-capped Chickadee (2)
3) Male Northern Cardinal
4) Blue Jay
5) Grey-slated Junco

What lovely birds, too! I've still got snow shots going into April, though it's now thawing here.

ReplyDeleteLovely little creatures.
ReplyDeleteGreat series.
I love watching the birds too and these photos are terrific! Have a great evening :)
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely images though Denise, snow or no snow.
ReplyDeleteThose are the birds I see most often in my backyard in the winter too. They definitely cheer up the seemingly unending winter with their sweet calls and pretty colors.
ReplyDeleteLove your fabulous photos!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots all. I especially love the cardinal. I find getting decent shots of them in the wild to be difficult.
ReplyDeleteThese are great bird shots!
ReplyDeleteSuper bird images! My favorite is the Cardinal.
ReplyDeleteNo more snow here either, we hope until net season, Denise. We also had unseasonably warm temps this week and it was in the mid-70s on Wed. You got some good bird close-ups, which is something we can't do living in a 5th floor apt unlike when I used to photograph from my kitchen window in VA.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots! Snow makes a great background for bird photos, but I'm happy that temperatures are warm now.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Denise!:)The birds look so pretty in the snow, nicely captured images of them all.
ReplyDeleteHello, Denise. I enjoyed this birdie post. So many pretty birds and photos. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeletei do love the chickadee and the junco, tiny and oh so cute
ReplyDeleteVery nice birds.
ReplyDeleteI like Blue Jay and Male Northern Cardinal.
Lovely colors.
Happy weekend.
They were probably thankful to find food at your feeder during the storm.
ReplyDeleteI like the capture of the Jay chowing down.
ReplyDeleteI love pictures of birds in the snow but so happy that as we move into spring I can get pictures of birds among the trees and on flower branches. Spring is my favorite time of year.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful birds and photos, my favourite is the last one...
ReplyDeleteHope, the hardest time for birds is over now.
Have a sunny weekend

Incredible bird shots....thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHope you are finally beginning to have some warmer temps! Love the beautiful winter birds shots!
ReplyDeleteGreat bird photos. I love seeing the Cardinals & really wish we had them here in Tasmania. I just adore their beautiful crimson colour. I always fuss around too much & often the birds fly away while I'm waiting to click the shutter for the perfect shot then I miss out all together.
ReplyDeleteAll lovely birds that visit your garden. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteHello Denise, I wanted to stop back and say thank you for linking up this post. I love all the birds and lovely photos. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shots Denise, particularly the blue jay with the seed in his beak
ReplyDeletePretty!
ReplyDeleteI rarely get the Blue Jay. And the juncos don't seem to hang out here (although they get the leftovers that fall from the suet feeder in West Virginia.)

So so pretty Denise. I think today my favorite is the Northern Cardinal...I just LOVE the sunlight on it. A most perfect, picture post card image.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for linking up this weekend at I'd Rather B Birdin'....this is a phenomenal series of photos. Much appreciated.
PS....70 degrees sounds great.
The little winter time birds are always so nice to see. I always called the Junco the snow bird. Enjoy your weekend! 80s here in Florida now! Hugs, Diane
ReplyDeletePretty birds! We still have snow, but at least it's slowly melting now.
ReplyDeleteDenise - a wonderful collection here.
ReplyDeleteWe've had a few spring-like days in the UK, so lovely.
Hope your snow does disappear soon and you have a lovely Spring.
