I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD SEE A LEPRECHAUN RIDING A UNICORN.

 "I've seen it all now", said she.

"What are you talking about?" said he.

"A leprechaun riding a unicorn!"

A look from he who just had to say...

"Are you tippling out of the wine this day?"

"Nay", said she, "Turn around and look!"

So, the next road he took a loop,

and saw a house with a basketball hoop.

And not far away but his eyes did see,

A leprechaun riding a unicorn with glee.

The man knew where leprechauns were born.

Not here! 

Have you ever seen one riding a unicorn?

No way, you may say and 

well, you have now

And it's not even St. Patrick's Day!

NEIGHBORHOOD DECORATIONS 12-18-24

 When we were driving home last Wednesday, I asked if we could go the long way round to see the neighborhood lights. There were a lot of blurry ones, but I weeded out these to share with you.

I usually crop them so as not to show the whole house, but thought the sky was really pretty in this one. We were approaching the twilight hour. Below is the same photo but a closer view of the decorations.

The reindeer and sleigh were on the other side of their driveway.

Another photo and that sky. There were more pretty lights than actual figures, but I thought it was a lovely display.

Next here comes the snowman and toy soldier.

People went to a lot of work to get their displays up, and I took photos of one couple in the process, not realizing they were there in the darkness until I took a good like on my laptop. I haven't shared that one. They didn't seem to notice us, and I didn't see them in the dark. There were many other decorations, but people were coming home and we didn't want to block traffic. I took these photos as we drove by. Hopefully, I will be able to get out again soon. 

REVISITING THE WREATHES AND GARLANDS OF COLONIAL WILLIAMSBURG

A few old photos from Williamsburg, from my archives.  They were taken at this time of the year, as you can see from all the decorations on the windows and doors.

NOW THAT WE ARE OFFICIALLY INTO THE AUTUMN....

I am sharing a farmer's market shop owned by Whitehall Farm, link here.  We were there two weeks ago.

It is not exactly around the corner, otherwise we would be there all the time.  On the way we passed these cyclists enjoying the sunshine.

A great day for a bike ride.

Twenty minutes or so later we were pulling into the parking lot.  We started out very early and it was during the week.  No other cars. It is closed Monday and Tuesday, and it crossed my mind that it was closed when we arrived.  But it was just very quiet.

They have a Fall Festival and I believe this is one of the hayride wagons.

Inside the store it had a light and cheery air.  I liked the fall decorations and enjoyed browsing over all the items we could purchase.

We bought fresh tomatoes, a bag of onions, a baguette, bread and butter pickles which was Gregg's choice, a jar of honey, my choice, and dark chocolate covered coffee beans, also my choice.  Quite a varied collection.

I first discovered how much I liked chocolate covered coffee beans at a coffee shop in one of our strip malls ages ago.  They always placed three on the side of my coffee cup, but stopped the practice several months ago.  "What?", I said, "No more chocolate covered coffee beans?"  Now whenever I come across them it is a special treat.  I do the same as the coffee shop, and eat two or three beans with my morning cup of coffee.  Zips me right through the day!

Time to go back and get more!

There were many things that interested us in this shop, the olive oil for instance.  They had all kinds of different flavors.

I asked if I could take a few photos and they readily agreed.  The decorations were very festive.

It's beginning to feel like Fall.
