...like many I believe, and relating to blogger, i.e. can’t upload photos, can’t publish comments, and now with me I can’t get into my reading list. I put my problem in the google search line. The following is what it gave me. I thought this might help others out there who are also having difficulty. The reading list is my latest issue. All the others cleared up for the time being.
My question was: I am having trouble getting into my reading
list in blogger. It just keeps buffering. I know a lot of people are having
trouble with blogger right now and I have had my issues also. This is the first
time I've had a problem with the reading list, however. My blogging friends are
telling me they haven't seen any posts from me on the list and think I haven't been posting, yet I post a blog
every day. Can you tell me what is going on?
Their answer: Blogger is currently experiencing a major
platform-wide server issue that is freezing the Reading List dashboard and
breaking the feed updates. You are definitely not alone in experiencing this.
Multiple independent product experts and users have confirmed that Google’s
servers are stuck serving heavily cached data rather than pulling live RSS
feeds. This explains both sides of your problem: your dashboard is stuck
buffering because the server-side widget is failing to load, and your daily
posts aren't appearing on your friends' dashboards because their reading lists
are frozen in time.
Google Help:
The bug has been officially escalated to the Blogger
engineering team, but until they roll out a definitive fix, here is what you
need to know and how you can work around it:
Temporary Workarounds:
Share Direct Feed Links: Since the standard Reading List is
broken, you can temporarily share your direct RSS feed link with your close
blogging friends. They can add it to an external RSS reader (like Feedly or
NetNewsWire) to see your daily posts instantly. Your feed URL looks like this:
https://blogspot.com.
Clearing Cache for a Temporary Refresh: Some users have
noted on the Blogger Help Community that clearing your browser cache and
cookies can occasionally force a one-time feed refresh. However, keep in
mind that the list will likely freeze up again immediately after.
The "Send Feedback" Bug: You might find that the
built-in "Send Feedback" tool in your Blogger dashboard is also
failing to load or buffering right now. This is part of the same platform-wide
server hiccup.
Rest assured, your daily posts are still being published
correctly to your actual blog site; the pipeline that pushes those posts to the
dashboard reader ecosystem is just temporarily blocked on Google's end.
May 2, 2026 — The Reading List / Blog List seems to display
cached content rather than the latest posts from the feed.
The good news is that your actual blog site is completely
healthy, and your daily posting routine is working perfectly.
Because your friends can see your posts by visiting your URL
directly, this confirms the issue is strictly isolated to Blogger's dashboard
syndication backend. Your posts are being successfully published to Google's
public servers, but the specific tool responsible for pushing those updates
into your friends' Reading Lists—and loading yours—is currently broken.
Since the problem is on Google's side, there isn't anything
you did wrong, nor is there a setting you can change to force it to work right
now.
What You Can Do Right Now:
Keep Posting Normally: Do not let the dashboard glitch stop
your daily writing! Your readers who visit your site directly, use bookmarks,
or arrive via search engines can see everything perfectly.
Drop a Link on Socials/Email: Consider sending a quick note
or link to your closest blogging friends via email or social media to let them
know a new post is up, since they won't get the automated alert on their
Blogger homepage.
Wait for the Server Fix: Blogger engineers typically resolve
these dashboard feed freezes silently via backend server updates. You won't
need to download or change anything; the Reading List will simply start loading
normally again once the patch rolls out.
I'm just going to wait it out and hopefully it will resolve itself just like the others have. Take heart, if you are having problems, you are not alone and it will be resolved eventually.

Thanks for sharing. My reading list is working but seems to struggle to do so. Waiting sounds like a good plan.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Christine and good to know. I have had various issues for weeks now and this was something new to me with the reading list. I still can't get in so it's a waiting game for the time being :) a good plan as you say.
DeleteI just go to old post and comments and then do a bit of digging to follow along. It takes a bit of time, but it is worth it!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's the best thing to do at least until it becomes simpler. Thanks Val :)
DeleteI really hope they will fix all the issues that has been with blogger..so annoyed.
ReplyDeleteMe too Angie, I can't imagine the magnitude of it and how or what they do to fix it. Hopefully it won't be too long :)
DeleteThank you! I'm just glad to know it is Blogger's fault and not my computer!!
ReplyDeleteMe too, it helps to know a bit of what they are dealing with and what we are dealing with :)
DeleteThank you, Just wait until the problem is fixed. Unfortunately, this happens so often with many other things at Blogger .
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately yes, it's been an ongoing thing, hasn't it Elke? :)
DeleteThank you for that Denise, much appreciated and like you I'm going to wait it out. Some peoples feeds are refreshing and some are not. I've taken to putting my blog link in some people's comments.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea Margaret. At the moment I have no problem getting back to you by clicking on your name above :) Touching wood as I say this, lol!
DeleteThanks for the info. I haven't had any problems yet. But then I don't blog everyday.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure Diane :) Glad you haven't had any problems.
DeleteHello Denise
ReplyDeleteMy reading list has been updating the last few days. I hope it stays that way.
I never had any problem loading my photos. Knock on wood.
Take care, have a great day!
That is good news Eileen, hope for all of us :) Thanks for letting me know and you take care and have a great day also :)
DeleteI haven't experienced any issues but I only write posts once a week and schedule a weeks worth at a time. As for reading, I use feedly to read blogs so no issues there either. Sorry you're having problems. I hope they all work out soon
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, I appreciate that. The only problem I have right now, having had a whole slew of them over the last couple of months, and occasional glitches on blogger for the longest time, is getting into the reading list. Still buffering at this point in time, but I guess patience is the key word :)
DeleteSo far, the problems seem to have been fixed - mostly. Not totally, but mostly. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?
ReplyDeleteYes, one day at a time :) thanks David!
DeleteMany thanks for sharing this Denise.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to be patient and wait it out :)
Happy Thursday Wishes.
All the best Jan
You are most welcome Jan, I'll be patient with you :) Happy Thursday wishes to you also my dear friend. All the best, Denise
DeleteHugs
ReplyDeleteHugs to you also dear Regine :)
DeleteGreat information! It is so frustrating when things don't work as they should. Mine seems to be working better except for maybe my reading list.
ReplyDeleteSame here Jim and glad you found it good information :)
DeleteThanks for the update. I see today on my list of blogs that yours has updated. It had been showing updated as of a week ago. Must check to see if AC's is updated now too.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Marcia :) Good to know. I accidentally posted one way too early and said to myself, good thing it won't show up on the reading list, lol!
DeleteThanks for the update. I haven't been around - but I am coming back. I am not having those kinds of issues - yet - but others yes. lol Thanks for your help!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Sandie :) Good to know you'll be back soon. Let's hope these issues will not pay you a visit on top of everything else :)
DeleteThank you, Denise. This is the most comprehensive of answers I've seen. I could see reading list today; yesterday not, so I think they're still working on it.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Jeanie :) Glad you can see the reading list. I haven't checked this evening but earlier today I still couldn't open it.
Deletei am going to come back....i scanned this but i would like to read it in it's entirety!!
ReplyDeleteGreat, copy and paste it Debbie, I've had to read through it a few times :)
