After our very nice conversation with the lovely couple we met at the garden, we kept bumping into dogs. The top two were together on the same leash. Owners initiated conversations after we smiled at their dogs as we stopped for them to walk by.
Dogs being what they are, all good naturedly walked up to us and wanted a fuss. Owners trying to keep them away until we told them we were dog lovers and didn't mind at all.
This little lady was the friendliest and I absolutely loved her. There were three of them with a young man whom I thought might have been with his mother. This little girl ran over and greeted me like an old friend and she was, sort of.
When the young man told me their names, the brain cells fired. Meet Oreo, what a little darling she is. We met her and her two children Apple and Linguini, and her nice human, last year in September. With Oreo making a beeline to me this time, later I wondered if she had remembered the fuss I gave her last year? A bit fanciful I suppose, and not sure but this lovely thought cheered me.
Gregg always says I have a memory like a laser, but things only clicked when I was told their names - we have met a LOT of dogs on our walks since, many of them Boston Terriers. But the more Oreo and I had a back and forth 'talking' session, the clearer that other day became. As soon as we got home, I looked on here and you can see that other meeting at this link. You will have to scroll down a bit.
I could have tapped myself on the head for not getting photos of Apple and Linguini, but her mother was getting all the fussing today.
Thanks for looking and have a great day!

It is nice they were all so friendly and wanted attention!
ReplyDeleteVery much so, they were adorable!
DeleteNice photos of the dogs, and they never forget Denise.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret, they do say that, don't they? :)
DeleteIt was nice that all the dogs were so friendly.
ReplyDeleteThat's sweet—the female dog surely recognized you by your voice, or perhaps by your scent!
Good day, hugs Elke
Hello dear Elke, I agree and yes, I'm hoping she recognized me and maybe I will bump into her again one of these days :) Good day to you also with hugs, Denise
DeleteHello Denise
ReplyDeleteCute doggies. Hubby and I always greet the dogs we see during our walks too.
Oreo is adorable, she probably does remember you.
Take care, Happy Friday! Have a great weekend.
Thank you Eileen, and I think that is lovely you enjoy not only Miney but other dogs you come across. Oreo is adorable and I hope so. You take care and I wish you the same :)
DeleteYou met some awesome looking dogs. Oreo does looking very friendly. Love the names Apple and Linguini. My son has animals that are all named after foods
ReplyDeleteIsn't that interesting about your son naming the animals after food? There are some cute names out there. We loved seeing Cleo and her family again. It made for an even pleasanter walk that day :)
DeleteIt’s great to meet a friendly dog who wants to spend a little time with you. Sometimes when I am walking the trail behind our house a lady with a Golden Retriever is there and her dog will literally not move on until I have petted her (the dog) and had a little chat!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you 100% David :) and how sweet about your Golden Retriever. Animals always recognize a friend.
DeleteI do like it when people ask me if they can pet Hannah or Charlie. They still wiggle like crazy when they meet people on trails.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend.
That’s great Val and I am sure you have given them as much pleasure as me with Oreo :) wiggling like crazy gave me a smile, thank you :) you enjoy your weekend also. I hope it’s not too hot for you all. It is 89 degs.F. here right now.
DeleteWhat a sweet story.
ReplyDeleteHappy you think so Regine :)
DeleteHave a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, you too :)
DeleteOreo, Apple and Linguini...they must be the favourite foods of the owners :-))
ReplyDeleteI never thought about that but you are probably right :)
DeleteMorning Denise
ReplyDeletefor sure this was a perfect post for the dog days of August
What adorable pups of all ages and sizes
Hugs cecilia
Oh I love your turn of phrase Cecilia. Wonderful! Thank you, all adorable indeed. Hugs, Denise
DeleteYou'd love our granddog Maple.
ReplyDeleteI know I would Marcia. I hope you will share a photo sometime :)
DeletePart of a good walk is the dogs you meet. I THINK DOGS are thinking what dogs we have met.
ReplyDeleteVery true Red! :)
DeleteAhh, what a fun second encounter with Oreo! What a great name for a dog!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly was Ellen :) I loved their names.
DeleteCute dogs!
ReplyDeleteAgree Christine, so cute! :)
DeleteThese dogs are all so adorable. It's such fun to meet them out on a walk, isn't it? I like the name Oreo too. She looks like she has the same philosophy as one of my dogs which is "There are no strangers, on;y friends I haven't yet met." Have a super Friday.
ReplyDeleteAren’t they? Thanks Erika, it surely is a whole lot of fun :) awww, I hope you will share photos of your dogs sometime, or maybe you have and I have just missed them. I will pay particular attention next time I visit. I hope your Friday has been an excellent one. I have enjoyed mine.
Deletelindos perritos. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteGracias, yo también lo pensaba :) Te mando un beso.
DeleteSome dog owners keep walking, Some will stop for the petting of their critters.
ReplyDeleteWe have been fortunate :) Most want to stay for a spell and enjoy telling us about their dogs. Body language can be a good guide.
DeleteI can easily believe she did remember you and the love you gave her last time!
ReplyDeleteHello Sara, that would be lovely :)
DeleteThis is so sweet. Interestingly, here in our area, everybody seems to have such tiny dogs. When they take them for walks, the dogs are in little carriages.
ReplyDeleteHow interesting Kay. That must be a very interesting and very cute sight :)
DeleteSo sweet, lovely photographs.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
