This…
and this...
I put the final ornament on the tree last night. This is my “wings” tree and I started this tradition last December. It includes birds, angels, butterflies, Santas and snowmen holding birds, a few honorary ones like the homemade-looking squirrel, and others that have that honor too. Several are gifted from loved ones, family and friends, some picked up on travels, and others that caught my eye just because. I have added an ornament here and there, some you have seen before because I have been sharing them at this time of year throughout the lifetime of this blog. I have been looking at your trees and their treasures too and loving them.
In our other news, not only did hubby arrive home on Saturday after being away for a few days, but on Sunday morning we had a lovely visit from family who dropped in on their way home many miles south of us. Our son was here also, and we had such a lovely time catching up as it had been a while. I am grateful most of the tree was dressed for their little one to enjoy and even in daytime, her eyes twinkled along with the colorful lights.
Today was not as exciting but we enjoyed ourselves, having our monthly Bahn Mi sandwich with a car picnic. Shopping for groceries came next and a coffee on the way home. A good start to a new week.
Thanks for looking and
I hope your day and week are great.

DeleteI love to see the ornaments on other people's trees. Yours are so cute. I like the idea of a themed tree. I might have to have two trees next year!
ReplyDeleteThank you Leslie, it is something I enjoy also, seeing everyone’s trees :) I was hoping to do a second tree this year. I’ll have to wait and see now though.
DeleteLovely post!

DeleteDenise what a lovely tree you have and I really like your glasses.
ReplyDeleteLots of fun news
Hugs cecilia
Hi Cecilia, and thank you. I don't usually have them on in photos as they are only reading glasses but sometimes I forget I am wearing them :) Hugs, Denise xo
DeleteYou do car picnics too. We haven't done that yet, but now that winter is here, I imagine that we will from time to time although most often likely just coffee.
ReplyDeleteNot often but they are fun to do when there is no seating available :) I know you and Sue will enjoy your own.
DeleteYour 'wings' ornaments are delightful. A lovely theme for the Christmas tree. I love the montage of ornaments you created. So clever.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it lovely when family call in unexpectedly, especially if you don't see them often.
Thank you so much Beverley :) those are so easy to do with these apps nowadays. I enjoy playing with them. Yes, it's always lovely!
DeleteI am a newer follower so it is all new to me. I love seeing other people's trees, ornaments, and decorations...and you! Happy Holidays!
ReplyDeleteSweet of you to say, thank you Rita and Happy Holidays to you too :)
DeleteI LOVE you glasses! Oh, the decorations a really pretty, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra, kind of you to say :)
DeleteDid you make that collage - I think your ornaments were beautiful. You had so much company it must seem dull now. What is a Bahn Mi sandwich?
ReplyDeleteI made the collage but only with a collage app I have on my iPhone. So glad you like the ornaments. The company was lovely. We have been getting Bahn Mi sandwiches from a Vietnamese place we've known about for years. All kinds of fillings put into a French Roll. The bread is a leftover from the days the French were there. Our favorite is a meatball one but they are nothing like American meatballs as the seasonings are so different but delicious. They top it with a salad mixture of thin strips of pickled vegetables like daikon radish, cilantro, carrots and some kind of hot pepper that can sometimes be very hot but mostly it's enough heat to make it very pleasant. It's one of our favorite sandwiches.
DeleteHaving a theme for your tree is very cool. I once had a second smaller tree that I decorated with painted eggs. I still have the three dozen or so eggs but opted not to include them on the tree this year.
ReplyDeleteThanks Marcia, I thought about it last year when I realized I had a lot of bird ornaments. Your painted eggs sound lovely! I have several ornaments that I am not getting out this year too :)
DeleteI love that first collage with you in the center. PERFECT! and it makes me feel happy. all your wings ornaments and you smiling and a car picnic sounds divine to me. I could just see Bob is I suggested one.. not gonna happen, not even when he could walk. thanks for the Happy Christmas Post today
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra :) that's so sweet of you to say and I am real happy you enjoyed not only my ornaments but my mug too lol! My dear other half is always encouraging me to put more photos of myself in there but I am happier behind the camera most of the time. We don't have our car picnics very often. This place in particular is a small shop with no seating. Very, very happy you enjoyed this today my dear friend :)
DeleteGreat collages and nice to see your in it too :)
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely when family call in unexpectedly, it sound like you had a wonderful time.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan and yes, we had a lovely time. All the best to you too, Denise xo
