A Countess Below Stairs.
If you click on the author's name under the quote, you will see where I got the following information from. There is a lot more to read.
"Eva Maria Charlotte Michelle Ibbotson (née Wiesner; 21 January 1925 – 20 October 2010), was an Austrian-born British novelist, known for her children's literature. Some of her novels for adults have been reissued for the young adult market. The historical novel Journey to the River Sea (Macmillan, 2001) won her the Smarties Prize in category 9–11 years, garnered an unusual commendation as runner-up for the Guardian Prize, and made the Carnegie, Whitbread, and Blue Peter shortlists. She was a finalist for the 2010 Guardian Prize at the time of her death. Her last book, The Abominables, was among four finalists for the same award in 2012.”
She was so right about the benefits of being outside.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sue! I agree, and a saying I used to hear a lot of, a change of scenery is as good as a rest :)
DeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteSmiling and thanks Jenn :)
DeleteThat looks absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Angie, I am always looking at tree tops. So glad I took a photo of these :)
DeleteThe colors and depth on this are fabulous! so intense. And the branches in the back look like shadows!!! I've never seen that kind of effect before.
ReplyDeleteHappy you enjoyed them Ginny :) I used an app years ago to turn my photo into art. I wish I could remember what it was. I wasn’t as diligent of taking notes of such things back then unfortunately.
DeleteOh this is lovely and I can see why that's a favorite photograph. It really is a nice one. Why don't you have it printed and mounted on your wall?
ReplyDeleteThat is a lovely idea Cloudia, and thank you :)
DeleteI am ashamed to say that I have never heard of Eva Ibbotson, so thank you for the introduction.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Janice. It is really wonderful to find out about people. This is another reason I like quotes. Not only are there some jewels out there, but an added gem is finding out who wrote them. This lady was new to me also.
DeleteFantastic photo. I've always liked shots taken looking up into the trees like this.
ReplyDeleteThe quote is so sweet
You and me both Ann :) and thank you, I am happy you liked the quote.
DeleteBeautiful photo and quote! Take care, have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you Eileen and I wish you the same :)
DeleteLovely capture, Denise, colours amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you Margaret, I was happy how this photo turned out :)
DeleteIt’s true. Being outside is the best of all, but so few people get there on a regular basis.
ReplyDeleteAgree David, walking through a wood for me is one of nature’s greatest pleasures. I look forward to doing that again :)
DeleteSo true. I think almost the same thing each morning as I walk out in the woods and look up at the stars.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the image :) That sounds idyllic!
DeleteBoth a lovely quote AND photo!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jeanie :) I am happy you enjoyed them.
DeleteWhat a nice quote and Oh my the photo!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs Cecilai
Thank you Cecelia and very much appreciated. Sending hugs :)
DeleteI prefer sunshine over dark, but I do like to see the stars twinkle and since our beloved pine tree is no longer with us, actually saw the great big one that is to the left of the huge moon. and a few others too
ReplyDeleteI like the sunshine too but am very comfortable in the dark :) I am so sorry you lost your pine tree.
DeleteLovely photo and sentiment
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine :)
DeleteLovely quote and even prettier photo. You really captured it.
ReplyDeleteSandy's Space
I appreciate that Sandy, thank you :)
DeleteHow true, and that is a beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra, happy you liked my post :)

I love this quote and the photo Denise. It is a rare day that I don't get outside to see nature in some form or another. It's good for my soul.
ReplyDeleteThank you Martha Ellen, I agree, nature is good for the soul :)
DeleteI see why this photo is a favorite. It's a beauty.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ellen, nature is often the perfect canvas :)
DeleteIt’s a nice quote. Nature is my favorite doctor, and the sun is the best medication.
