...and it is up to us to teach them love and kindness.
"In order for my children to grow up to be kind and do kind things, I need to be present. I need to look at people. I need to be human. It's when we take time to really see the people around us that we wind up being kind in our everyday lives."
~Jennifer Lizza~

"It's not our job to toughen up our children to face a cruel and heartless world. It's our job to raise children who will make the world a little less cruel and heartless."

Opinions are always welcome on anything I share. Even on a Saturday Morning at the Bird Feeder, I value them.
Thanks for looking at today’s bird feeder post. The birds are slowly coming back, but right now they are flittering in and out at a fast rate of speed. My reflexes are as slow as molasses and I haven’t taken any decent photos. I keep telling them to slow down on their caffeine intake! Hopefully they will be back for the next one, and the squirrels will learn to share, says I smiling. We can live in hope and such is life.
Have a wonderful day my friends!
It's so good that he knows that he has to share, Denise.
ReplyDeleteTake care.
I agree Margaret :) thank you and you take care too!
DeleteI do not need the birds to really enjoy your Saturdays!!! Just your captions, Froggies 3, and the bunnies delight me. And a squirrel or two makes it even better.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet of you to say Ginny, thank you so much. My other non-birds thank you too :)
DeleteGlad to hear that the birds are starting to come back. I enjoy your Saturday mornings at the bird feeder with squirrels though too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Ann, I'm glad too :) and very happy you enjoyed with squirrels only. They appreciated you saying that, a little bird whispered in my ear, lol! Yes they are coming back.
DeleteMy Dad always said, Live in hope, die in despair...Thanks for that memory!
ReplyDeleteLove all the cute photos!
hugs
Donna
That's a wise quote from your Dad Donna, and knowing how important these memories are of our Dads, you are very welcome . Thank you so much and sending hugs :)
DeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteI hope the squirrel leaves some food for the birds, they are piggies.
It is important to teach the children to be kind to animals and all wildlife.
Take care, have a happy weekend.
They certainly are Eileen but I love the little darlings. Yes, very important, I agree. You take care and have a happy rest of the week. I can see you already had a happy weekend. I am just catching up on tuesday :)
Deletedo you still have your cam? is it out there on the new deck? I only have the cell and that requires to get closer for small things like critters. cute squirrel, we have 2 that came back yesterday, they disappeared after the storms..
ReplyDeleteI don't Sandra and I keep meaning to ask Gregg to put it back up. One of these days! I hope you get your critters back, or not depending on how you feel about them. Knowing you and your big heart, you love them as much as I do :)
DeleteSharing is caring :-))
ReplyDeleteVery true :)
DeleteSeems maybe sharing and kindness are either no longer a part of a child's rearing. Or the parents are not being consistent with the training you know the common daily practice when our children were young reminding them to say please and thank you and to treat others as we would like to be treated.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Cecilia
Please and thank you's are so important, I agree. Thanks Cecilia, sending hugs :)
DeleteLovely post. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you Anne, much appreciated and I hope your weekend was very nice also :)
DeleteLiving in hope is so important...Love this philosophical post at the bird feeder my friend!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Martha Ellen, thank you and yes, very important :)
DeleteI have a feeling that Mr. Squirrel has a lot of seed stored away somewhere for the long winter!
ReplyDeleteHe does but hopefully it's not our car engine, lol!
DeleteOh Denise, that second quote was a really good one. I will send that to the girls. Your mums in the distance are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have pleasant November days.
~Sheri
That's great Sheri, I am happy you enjoyed them :)
DeleteWe still have beautiful sunshine and autumn leaves, but next week I'll be putting up the birdhouse. I bought a lot of different bird food this week.
ReplyDeleteIt can get cold quickly and the birds need to know where to get something.
Kind regards to you from Viola
That's wonderful Viola, we do also. Your birds will be happy. Kind regards to you also my friend :)
DeleteWhat a thoughtful reflection on parenting and kindness! Jennifer Lizza and L. R. Knost offer powerful insights that remind us of the importance of being present and compassionate role models for our children. Your emphasis on raising children who contribute positively to the world is truly inspiring.
ReplyDeleteIt's delightful to hear about your bird feeder adventures as well! The imagery of the busy birds and the playful squirrels adds a charming touch to your post. Your sense of humor about their quick movements makes it all the more enjoyable. Here’s hoping for a calmer visit from those feathered friends next time!
I just shared a new post; you are invited to read. Happy weekend!
A lovely comment Melody, thank you so much! I shall look forward to your new post and will be stopping by soon. Thank you for the invite :)
DeleteYou nailed the squirrel character in this one.
ReplyDeleteYes, and they are adorable but rascally little characters for sure :)
DeleteThank you for adding me to your blogroll blog list. Wishing you a wonderful November.
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome Ivy, I enjoy your blog very much. You have a wonderful November also :)
DeleteHopefully they will get back on track and remember they can relax and have their photos taken.
ReplyDeleteHopefully Rose :) I see them coming back but I am a bit slow taking photos right now.
DeleteLinda ardilla, te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteLa querida ardillita está muy contenta de que te parezca preciosa :) ¡Gracias y te mando un beso!
DeleteYou know, we haven't put our feeders back out yet. The weather has been so lovely, I have almost forgotten to do so. Shameful of me. But I think with November here - it is time to bring the birds back:) Hope you are enjoying a nice weekend...and that extra hour of sleep tonight, too!
ReplyDeleteNo shame at all Jennifer :) When the weather is warm they still have natural food available. Yes, with November, the birds will need to be fed. I had a lovely weekend thank you and I hope you did too. I still haven't adjusted to the extra hour yet :)
DeleteThe squirrel is very happy to have the food all to himself, but I'm sure he will share when the birds return.
ReplyDeleteHe certainly is and let's hope so :) Thanks Janice!
DeleteGood mommy chipmunk (or squirrel). I need to start getting seed again. I held off for the summer and while they still can find a lot out there, time to bulk up for winter!
ReplyDeleteSame here Jeanie, I was once told by a naturalist that we needed to stop feeding them in the summer months with all the natural food around. Once the weather gets colder we can start up again, and hopefully they have also had a chance to store the summer food :)
DeleteI do enjoy seeing squirrels.
ReplyDeleteAt the bird feeder in the garden there is definitely a pecking order (no pun intended), it's always interesting to see/watch the interaction between the different birds and squirrels.
It's good to share :)
All the best Jan
That makes me very happy Jan, thank you :) and I do love that no pun :))) I agree, these little critters are always fun to observe, and most definitely good to share :) All the best to you too.
